Total scam, watch out!8 yearsI received two calls on my landline from this number but they didn’t leave any voicemail, so when they rang a third time, I decided to pick up. An Asian woman was on the other end claiming to be from BT, saying there was suspicious activity on my internet connection. I informed her that BT isn’t my service provider, but she insisted they oversee the entire network in the UK and tossed out some random reference number. When I asked her to clarify who she was, she provided the contact number above for verification. Out of curiosity, I rang it from my mobile, and a chap answered, identifying himself as BT Openreach. I promptly hung up and contacted my actual provider, who confirmed it was a scam. It’s quite likely they were fishing for personal information or trying to get me to pay for a non-existent service.
