Just got a call from someone claiming I had a £3000 cheque waiting from the Ministry of Justice for refunding extra bank fees. Nearly got tricked! They said a solicitor called Julie Shaw would deliver the cheque. Then they asked me to buy a £150 iTunes card, which I didn’t do. They said they’d call back thinking I’d gone to Tesco for the card. Total scam. They called from 020 3287 2989 and gave a reference number, gw385 or something like that. Absolutely awful.

This was a total scam. Someone claimed I had a £3000 cheque from the government. A solicitor named Julie Shaw said she was handling charges from the bank in 2011, supposedly from the Ministry of Justice. I nearly got caught out. They told me to purchase a £150 iTunes card and said they'd call me back in an hour. Still no phone call. The number they gave for me to call was 02081443215. Of course, I never bought the card. It’s unbelievable these people aren’t caught and stopped. They really ought to be found and dealt with properly.
