Since then, my phone has remained free from interruptions for the past 30 minutes. Here's a useful piece of advice: when using Gumtree, it would be wise to adopt an alias or pseudonym. This ensures that when you encounter unexpected phone calls, they will always inquire about your pseudonym, raising immediate warning signals.

Initially, I believed it was a legitimate insurance company because I had an accident in May and I am still awaiting resolution from my insurance provider. Therefore, I continued speaking with a woman from India, who then transferred me to a man, and then to another man named 'Alisha' (which struck me odd as it is typically a girl's name). Posted an ad on Gumtree and next thing I know, my number’s been handed over to some dodgy firms. Got three calls from suspicious places practically right after I uploaded it. Tried one scam on me, and when that flopped, they changed their story saying I’d been in a crash sometime in the last three years. Honestly, two rubbish calls all squashed into one annoying mess.

Some bloke called asking if I’d been in a crash that wasn’t my fault. I told him, “Nah, mate, it was totally on me, I was drunk, ran a red light and smashed into five cars at the crossroads. Four people died.” Then I lost it and begged him to get me outta jail, yelling, “Are you my lawyer or what?” over and over.

Got a call from a foreign sounding bloke claiming I’d had an accident recently. I told him straight up that there was no accident and called him out on the scam. Ended the call pretty sharpish.

Got some dodgy calls from this supposed accident help line, told them to get lost and stop scamming folks, then they just hung up 😂. I reckon giving them a bit of grief might actually put them off - no one wants to answer calls where all they get is abuse, right? Hopefully it puts a dent in their annoying calls!

I put my car up for sale on Gumtree and not long after, this number rang me! Didn't pick up at first, but then another call came from a mobile, 07466440668, and it was some bloke with an Indian or Pakistani accent going on about an accident I supposedly had two years back... yeah right! Ended up just hanging up and blocking them straight away.

Right after I put up an ad on Gumtree, this bloke rings me. I asked what he wanted and he just goes, “I wanna suck your boobs” then “I wanna suck your ####.” Proper creepy. I blocked him straight away. If I get another like that, I need a decent reply ready!

A pleasant Indian gentleman called me regarding a car accident that apparently happened, but I have no recollection of it.
