Got a call claiming I was due £3850 from some PPI payout I’d already sorted. An Indian guy said he was Alex Carter from the County Court of London, 227 The Strand. Then I got another call from someone named Francis Anderson, same voice and manner, probably the same bloke. They wanted me to send £150 in iTunes vouchers before they’d deliver a cheque to me. I told them I’d cover the solicitor fees a week after the cheque cleared in my bank, and then he just hung up! Super sketchy, watch out for this one.

Got a call from 02032868676, some bloke called David Collins said I was owed PPI. He claimed he was from the City County Court of London and said I had to pay £350, otherwise it’d go up by £25 every day. He gave an email as kelvin Phillip @gmail.com and asked me to send the money to Rishabh Sharma. He also mentioned other names like Rukhsar Lodi and Arvind Sharma. Got a call from 02081444710, sounded indian. He was really pushy about winning a court case on my behalf and said I was due £3750. Told me I could get the money today if I sent a paysafe card with £300 to some courier. They even knew stuff about my old claims, which freaked me out a bit.

Happened to me too, some bloke with an Indian accent called himself Dave! Saying I was owed over £3,000 for PPI and needed to buy Paysafe cards to cover a 10% fee. He wanted me to prove I had the vouchers before sending a courier with the cheque - honestly, it felt dodgy, especially as I gave out loads of personal info. The number was 0208 1444710. Pretty sneaky, but obviously a scam; if it was legit, they'd just send the cheque or do a bank transfer instead of any of that hassle!

Same story as others here, some Asian guy calling himself Paul Simon(!) telling me there’s a cheque close to £3,000 waiting for me. Said he’d bring it over but first I had to buy paysafe vouchers as some “commission” to unlock the money. Even threw in a reference number and mentioned a PPI claim I supposedly made years ago! I told him I work at a solicitor’s office and deal with fraud regularly, so I was very wary of calls from private numbers. Said I’d call him back. He gave me 0208 144 4710. No way am I ringing that number again. Watch out everyone.

27/1/2017 Got a call today from an unknown number, and some Asian guy told me I had a PPI claim with Lloyds (Black Horse). He said the County Court of London had decided in my favour and that the dispatch department had a cheque for £3100 for me. But I had to pay a £250 fee using a Paysafe card. He even gave me the name of the courier delivering it. Is this some kind of scam or what? I could also hear a woman’s voice in the background, like a recorded message playing repeatedly.

Got a call from a withheld number, same old scam. They said I’m due a cheque for £2750 but I need to first buy £275 worth of iTunes vouchers to get it. Sounded quite legit, gave me a reference number and a contact to ring (02080770875) once I had the vouchers. this has gotta be a total ripoff! seriously, who on earth would say something like "got my cheque for 3800p" and then drop a number like 7121? and why on earth would some "city of london court" ring you up straight away?! the fact that there’s loads of “safe” comments here just shows how dodgy this whole thing is. plus, those “safe” reviews don’t even make sense or use proper English.
