11 yearsTotal numpties and con artists. Just hang up on them!11 yearsI received a rather peculiar phone call from a chap named Mr. V Sharma, who claimed that I’d managed to bag a whopping £50,000. He even had the audacity to provide my landline number as a ticket reference, stating that I had been entered into a draw over in Dubai. He asked me to hold for a couple of minutes, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that he might be attempting to connect some dodgy device to siphon my contacts. So, I advised him to call me back, as it seemed he was fishing for my access code to facilitate an extraction of cash from my bank account. The only personal information he requested was my name and address. I promptly hung up, but he ringed me again, insisting I needed to stay on the line to obtain the access code. It all struck me as fishy, and I suspect it’s a ploy to harvest my landline contacts or perhaps your thoughts on the matter would be welcome?V SharmaDubaiSubmit Your Own Report (020 8144 0002)
