Got a suspicious call again today and ended up blocking the number. They're probably pretending to be from the 'council' or some sort of 'housing association' about repairs. If they ring back, I’m seriously thinking of reporting it to the police. Watch out for stuff like this!

I set a ringtone that’s the Benny Hill tune for any calls from numbers that aren’t saved in my contacts. Whenever I hear that song playing, I just hang up straight away. Then, I look up the number on this site and if it shows up as suspicious, I block it on my phone.

Got a call today at around 6.51pm from a man with an Indian accent claiming he was from a Housing Repair Team, supposedly working for the local council and housing associations, asking if I needed any repairs done. When I asked where they’d gotten my number from, he just kept saying it was on behalf of the council and housing associations. I pressed him for which council or association it was, but he said that info was data protected. I pointed out that my number should be protected too and told him I wasn’t interested, then ended the call.

Received a call today around 18:51 from a chap with an Indian accent claiming to represent the Housing Repair Team associated with the local Council and Housing Associations, inquiring whether I required any maintenance for my property. I was curious and asked him how he acquired my phone number. He insisted he was affiliated with the aforementioned organisations. When I probed further about which council or Housing Association, he claimed it was all protected data. I pointed out that my phone number should also be considered private information, at which point I decided to end the conversation and hung up.
