Got a call from a man with a very polished voice. He claimed he wasn’t cold calling and said he was part of some government programme. It was pretty tough to get him off the phone tho. I told him to put anything he needed to say in writing if he wanted me to listen. I reckon he might easily trick those who aren’t paying attention.

Like some other folks here, I got a call from a woman who sounded like she was talking from a huge empty hall or something. She claimed she worked for a firm offering a government grant, related to insulating my loft. I told her I wasn’t interested and ended the call straight away. That number’s on my blocked list now. My advice? Always steer clear of unsolicited calls. If there’s a legit offer, you’ll find it on the official government site anyway.

I found this site really good for spotting scammers, but it doesn’t actually stop the calls. I got myself a BT Callminder and since then I haven’t had any more annoying nuisance calls at all! Definitely worth getting if you want peace from that kind of thing.

This number kept ringing me non-stop for weeks, each time with a different person on the line saying something about roof insulation. I just told them to buzz off and slammed the phone down. Some bloke called s#### said I could get a free loft inspection for installation or whatever. He asked if my area code was something specific, and when I told him no, he wanted to know what it actually was. I told him to mind his own business, and then he just ended the call. Honestly, these sort of people are the ones you wouldn’t feel sorry for if anything bad came their way.

To me, her accent came across as Lowland Scots, but everything else seemed identical. She mentioned something about me qualifying for a grant that could unlock other opportunities.
