Received a rather peculiar phone call earlier from a lady of Asian descent, claiming to be sorting out a transfer from O2 to Virgin. The thing is, I’m not subscribed to either network! She insisted on getting my email address, but I found it all a bit off, especially when she mistakenly referred to me as female. That was my cue to end the conversation and hang up!

I’ve received a couple of missed calls recently. On Tuesday, I had a dodgy call pretending to be from O2, but it was from a different number. This one seems to follow suit - it only started popping up in searches this week. Quite the coincidence, isn't it?

I've had a number of calls that I missed and there was a voicemail left that was completely silent.

Absolutely a dodgy operation, best to put the phone down and keep your information to yourself. They masquerade as O2 in an attempt to breach your account. If you’re feeling uncertain, simply disconnect and either give O2 a ring directly or log into your account to confirm that these chancers are indeed up to no good.

I received a call claiming to be from O2, stating they needed to assist with shifting my information over from Virgin as my contract with them was nearing its conclusion. When I requested they send me an email instead, they asked me to verify my email address. I insisted they should have that information already and should be the ones confirming details with me. At that point, the caller abruptly disconnected.

I recently had an encounter with a chap from 02 who's been working on enhancing WiFi services in my locality after the transition from Virgin. He mentioned they were keen on upgrading the signal strength, as I had been experiencing some rather lacklustre connectivity since the switch. I provided my email, and he assured me there wouldn't be any charges involved for the upgrade, so I suggested he proceed with it. However, things took a turn when he seemed to get a bit agitated, as it appeared he didn't appreciate me directing the flow of our conversation. To avoid any further unpleasantness, I decided it best to end the call. What a palaver!

Received a nuisance call claiming to be from O2. I promptly ended the conversation.

I had a rather charming conversation with a gentleman of Asian descent claiming to represent O2. He assured me he could do some marvelous things for me. We chatted amiably for around ten minutes, but when he sought my email address, I politely declined. I then mentioned that I'd taken up enough of his time and suggested he take a trip with his mother, the poor fellow got a bit flustered.

Absolutely dodgy characters-just a pack of con artists pretending to be from O2. They're after your banking details! Best to steer clear of them.

I just ignored the call since the number was unfamiliar. Good thing I checked later and found out it was one of those scams.

Claimed to be representing O2 and mentioned they were attempting to facilitate the transfer of details from Virgin to O2. I suggested they send me an email, and then, quite abruptly, the call ended.

Gave them a ring, but they didn't bother leaving a message. I don't have a clue who they are or where they’re from.

I've had a few chats with this bloke who calls himself Mark - obviously not his real name - and he says he's from O2. He insists I need to be moved to some new system by the end of the week or else my phone signal, internet and everything will go down. He wouldn’t back off when I said no, but I kept tight-lipped and didn’t give him any info. Since my network provider never contacted me about anything like that, I just cut the call short.

Had a call from this number earlier today. The bloke on the line kept repeating "hello... hello" about 5 or 6 times, even though I was answering and saying hello back - sounded a bit strange. I also caught background voices doing the same thing. He claimed to be from O2, trying to get me to switch my contract or something. Before I let him run on, I told him straight up I’m not daft and I knew it was a scam (not that I’m even with O2). He just hung up right after that. Honestly, best to just ignore and block this number, saves a bunch of hassle.

Got a couple of calls from this number over the last two days. A bloke named Mark claimed to be working for O2 and said he’s handling the changeover from Virgin Media to O2. When I asked him to send details to my email, he gave me an incorrect address - I suspected it was dodgy but figured I’d humour him to stop the calls. He just wouldn’t accept no for an answer. Best thing is to block the number and ignore it!

Got a call yesterday from a number outside London, a woman with really poor English saying she was from O2. Then today, a bloke rang me from that same number, and when I asked him how I could be sure he was actually from O2, he just replied “don’t worry about it.” That’s when I just ended the call.
