Got a call from someone saying they were from EE, offering me a half-price deal on my phone plan. Thing is, they didn’t know my number or email, which was a bit suspicious. So I ended the call and rang EE myself on 150. The person at EE told me straight away it was a scam, saying they don’t call out of the blue with deals and only ring if you ask for a callback. Definitely dodgy, so watch out!

Apparently, this call was supposedly from EE. They rang me again after I decided to cut the line during our first chat.

I just received a rather peculiar phone call from this number, with a woman claiming to be from O2. She mentioned she was presenting me with an incredible 50% discount on my monthly bill. Naturally, I inquired about the specifics, but she simply repeated her offer, enthusiastically declaring, “It’s a brilliant deal, isn’t it?” When she requested my account details, I countered by asking her to provide me with the information she already had on file to confirm its accuracy. Instead of addressing my request, she kept insisting, “I’m giving you a discount, why don’t you want it?” In the end, I chose to terminate the call and block the number. There’s absolutely no justification for O2 to contact me out of the blue and propose such a significant discount! Best to steer clear of this one!

I received a call from a woman who said she was representing a mobile network. However, the name of the company was so jumbled that it was nearly impossible to understand. It felt like she was trying to trick me. I suspect the conversation was about some sort of rewards programme that would require me to divulge some personal information. It definitely had the hallmarks of a scam right from the start.
