Avoid picking up calls from these people, they’re a total scam. They tricked me out of £2180, so please be careful and don’t fall for it like I did. They’re not genuine at all.

This bloke had a strong Indian accent and said I was owed a tax refund of £500. He then asked for my card info to put the money in. That’s when I decided to look it up and came across this site. Really appreciate what you lot are doing here. Blessings to everyone who runs this site!

Avoid answering, it's a HMRC scam! Got three calls today from various London numbers all trying the same trick. Just block any suspicious numbers like these.

I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying I had a tax refund coming. They then tried to get me to give my bank card info. It sounded dodgy so I checked this site while I was still on the call. Cheers for having this site, really helped me spot it was a scam!

What can we do to put an end to this? They have access to my personal details and honestly, they should face legal action.

Got a phone call today and asked if we could arrange a meet up to chat in person. When I requested their location, the caller started calling me a proper fool for not having the address. I told him I’m perfectly capable of looking it up on Google but wanted to confirm exactly where they were to deal with them face to face. Even though he kept calling me an idiot, he claimed to be from HMRC. By the end of the call, he got pretty hostile. This lot have rung me from three separate numbers already.

I got an automated call saying it was from the 'Inland Revenue,' which isn't the right name anymore since it's now 'HMRC.' They said it was a last warning about legal action and wanted me to call them back. I can imagine how this might really scare someone who’s more vulnerable. With all the tech we have nowadays, you'd think there’d be a better way to block these fraudsters.

Got a call this morning from a voice that sounded robotic claiming it was HMRC. When I rang back, some bloke with an Indian accent said I owed taxes and if I didn’t pay up, I’d be taken to court. I explained how HMRC usually sends letters and never calls, which seemed to annoy him. He got kinda pushy, so I told him it all seemed like a scam and then he just hung up. Seriously, don’t share your card info or personal stuff with these people. Make sure to report them!

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC offering a tax refund. They wanted my card info which seemed off. Basically, HMRC only send refunds through a cheque and they always notify you about it in writing first. Total scam!

Got a call from some robotic voice, sounded like they’d somehow hacked HMRC or something and nicked my info. Proper annoying! Feels like no one’s bothered about stopping this, and it's so stressful being threatened like that. I reckon it might be some Korean outfit trying to chase payments or whatever.

IF YOU'VE HAD A RING FROM 0208 133 9001, LISTEN UP. I DID A BIT OF DIGGING USING 411[###] AND FOUND OUT THAT THE CARRIER LISTED IS VODAFONE LTD (C&W) CABLE & WIRELESS. I'VE CONTACTED VODAFONE LTD DIRECTLY TO ASK THEM TO SHUT DOWN THIS LINE IMMEDIATELY IF IT TURNS OUT TO BE THEIR SERVICE, AS IT'S CLEARLY GETTING USED FOR ILLEGAL PURPOSES.

Oh yes, very legit alright - I supposedly owed a grand so I paid up with my card, and next thing I know, they've emptied out over £21,000 from my bank! Absolutely not! Just a bunch of overseas scammers. I'm so grateful for this website and similar ones. Cheers for giving me peace of mind. We need to find these crooks and have them fried on live TV after 8pm, when the kids are asleep, obviously. They ring from an 0813 number with only nine digits. Blocked all their calls and messages now. What a scam.

Yesterday, this number rang me but I missed it, so I phoned back. The person on the line claimed to be from HMRC and said I had a tax refund of £956 waiting. They wanted my visa or mastercard info to sort it out immediately. I told them I prefer to handle things online. Still, they were pushing me to give my card details, saying the call was being "recorded." I didn't give out any details. They rang me once more today. When I asked where they were calling from, the guy quickly answered "100 Parliament Street, London," or something like that.
