9 yearsIt appears that I've been targeted by some fraudsters insisting I procure an £180 iTunes voucher to cover taxes on a supposed £3700 PPI refund. The bizarre part is, I've never even possessed PPI! The individual claiming to assist me goes by the name of Anisa Adbi.Anisa Adbi10 yearsSounds like one of those dodgy calls from someone claiming to be from India trying to con you.India10 yearsBe careful, these people are straight up scammers pretending to be from the government, claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice’s claims team. We got a call from a guy called Colin Brown who said a solicitor would visit us with a £2500 cheque and that we needed to pay a 5% tax using an iTunes voucher bought from Tesco. Honestly, I don’t even get how this scam works. When I asked for his government ID, he said it was cb4628, and his email was some random Gmail address. Watch out and don’t give them any personal info or your address!Colin BrownTesco10 yearsI got a call from some bloke from India offering me a loan of £100,000 out of nowhere. After I told him I wasn't interested, he started being really rude and abusive. This happened right after I tried to apply for a small £100 loan through Lending Stream. Watch out for these dodgy callers!Stream10 yearsHere we go again with the same old con. They're peddling a £150 iTunes voucher for a staggering £3000! I've had enough and reported the number to the authorities because they turned quite aggressive, hurling foul insults my way, and bombarding me with calls every minute for a solid quarter of an hour. I must have really got under their skin! It's the same characters too - Derrick Hamlyn is back in the mix, along with that Valerie who’s meant to pick up the voucher. What a right sham!Derrick HamlynValerie10 yearsThey're back, this time wanting iTunes vouchers in exchange for £3000. Had to call the cops once after they kept using horrible language and bothering me nonstop. Watch out, these people are really nasty!10 yearsReceived a rather dubious call claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice, stating they were going to refund me £2500 for PPI related to a Lloyds loan from back in 2005. Utter nonsense, if you ask me! This number turns out to be linked to a domestic landline, and judging by the plush flat it’s associated with, they must be reeling in some serious dough! The MOJ doesn’t employ anyone to "work from home" making these sorts of calls. It's crucial to inform these fraudsters that you're wise to their tricks - they thrive on the unsuspecting. I’ll admit, the thought of £2500 just following Christmas is quite alluring, but on reflection, I find it hard to bother with scurrying off to buy an iTunes card to receive a cheque. I suppose I’ll just have to stick to earning my pennies the honest way!Ministry of JusticeLloydsMOJiTunes10 yearsGot a call earlier from someone asking my mum to put some cash into an account. They told her to keep it quiet and say it was for a mate. When I tried ringing them back, it seemed like 'Derek Hampton' was some sort of cover name, cos the line just got cut as soon as I asked for him. The bloke sounded like he had an Indian accent too!Derek Hampton10 yearsReceived a call supposedly from a government office, specifically the Ministry of Justice. They requested my name, but I ended up terminating the call.Ministry of Justice10 yearsThere's yet another scammer trying to swindle people with an outrageous offer of a £150 iTunes voucher in exchange for a £3000 PPI cheque. Goes by the name of Derek Hamlyn. Curiously, he mentioned bringing in a solicitor named Valerie for the transaction! I had a chat with my mum, who got the call, and suggested they could pop over to my place for the swap, but only if they cover the travel expenses! We're currently braving a fierce force 8 gale on our quaint little island! Honestly, these con artists are just despicable, targeting the elderly and the vulnerable. It makes me absolutely furious!Derek HamlynValerieSubmit Your Own Report (020 8133 6784)
