Reports on phone number 02081336737
9 yearsI received a rather dubious call from a gentleman claiming he was affiliated with the telephone blocking department. My phone indicated it was an "International" number, and to add to my unease, he had the audacity to mention my name and address. He then proceeded to request the expiry date of my debit card under the guise of needing to verify my identity. Naturally, I was taken aback and said I wouldn’t provide that information. When I inquired about his phone number, he provided 0208 133 6737. Curiosity got the better of me, so I asked for more details about his company. He referred to "ASM Recruitment" and even supplied an address. When I pressed him about the connection between the company and telephone blocking services, he asked which service provider I used, claiming they represented them! I expressed my disbelief, noting that I handle my payments via Direct Debit, so there was absolutely no way I’d be sharing my card’s expiry date. To my astonishment, he then requested the "16 digits from the front of my card". At this point, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity, which prompted him to abruptly terminate the call. Obviously, a scam artist at work!ASMDirect Debit9 yearsI've got caller ID and usually don't pick up if I don't know who's calling, but this number just keeps ringing me.
