The caller had a female voice, possibly with an Indian accent, claiming to be from a company called Online Support Ltd, purportedly located on York Street in London. She stated that they were collaborating with Windows and had supposedly detected some dubious activity linked to my computer. She inquired whether my PC had received any recent updates from Windows, but when I pressed for details on how she acquired my contact information, her responses became repetitive, mainly centred around the Windows/server/PC spiel. It immediately raised my suspicions; I strongly believe she would have attempted to harvest my personal data and gain remote access to install malware if I had engaged further. At one point, she was noticeably unprofessional, exclaiming, "as I've already mentioned to you..." which was a clear indicator of her disingenuousness. I know for certain that there’s no feasible way for her to have obtained my landline number. Furthermore, a legitimate company under the name Online Support, based in Brentford, has a warning about cold callers on their site.
