I got a call about a printer problem and this bloke said he was from Canon and could sort it out for me. He asked to control my computer remotely, which made me a bit iffy. When I told him no, he started getting all shirty, saying I was just wasting his time. I then asked him to prove he really was from Canon, and he turned proper nasty. Watch out for this number, it’s dodgy.

Today, this number rang me twice, and I’ve missed quite a few calls from it before. So, I decided to ring back and ask who was calling and why. A man with an Indian accent answered and asked for my name, but I refused to say. I told him, “You called me, so you tell me who I am and what you want.” He said to wait while he checked which “department” had contacted me. After a minute, he claimed it was the department of justice and said I was owed a refund. I told him he was talking nonsense and told him not to call again. I’ve since blocked the number.

Pretty much like Ruth's experience. This number kept calling me nonstop so I decided to pick up. It was a guy with an Indian accent, calling himself Kelvin Bell from the Ministry of Justice. Oddly, he already had all my personal info. He claimed I was about to receive a cheque for a PPI payout, but I had to first buy a Ukash Voucher to cover some kind of tax. He said the cheque, along with the solicitor, would be coming to my place later that afternoon. This number and story are almost identical to others I've seen on here. - caller: Kelvin Bell

This number kept ringing me a lot so I eventually picked up. The caller was an Indian bloke who called himself Kelvin Bell and claimed to be from the Ministry of Justice. He already had all my info and said I was supposed to receive a PPI cheque today. But he said I needed to buy a Ukash Voucher to cover the tax, and then the solicitor would come round this afternoon with the cheque and pay everything into my bank. The number really resembles others I've seen on this site, with the same kinda scammy story... - caller name was Kelvin Bell.
