I saw a call from 02081331884 earlier. Turns out it was an Amazon scam again. This time, I didn’t even pick up - just blocked it straight away with my blocker app. They keep calling from different numbers, but I ignored those too. They’re not getting me this time or any other time really. Honestly, my advice is to be cautious, block those calls, and just leave your phone alone or don’t bother answering at all.

Some bloke rang me claiming he was with Carphone Warehouse, offering a Samsung s21 at a lower rate than my current contract and said they'd clear my old plan too. He then asked for my bank info, saying they needed to take a £29 fee which would be given back once everything was sorted with the new deal.

My mother-in-law fell for a phishing email where they told her to ring this number saying it was PayPal, to cancel a dodgy payment. She ended up giving them remote access to her computer. I'm guessing they put some malware on it but I won’t really know how bad it is until I can check it out when I visit tomorrow.

I got a call from someone claiming to be "Anna" from Amazon Security, asking if I was familiar with a David Thompson supposedly linked to my account. She also mentioned emails they’d sent me about this. The caller ID showed a local 01992 number, but she insisted I ring back on 020 8133 1884 and ask for Anna with ID 1005. It felt dodgy since she didn’t know who I was and dodged all my questions. When she asked what time I finish work, I told her that’s private, but she said I needed to call before 4pm. Definitely a scam, so I've blocked the number now.

Got a call from a woman saying her name was Anna and she said she was with Amazon. She told me someone had been trying to mess with my account and that they’d tried emailing me about it. I jotted down the number she gave, said to be their main office - 0208 133 1884 - but I didn't bother going any deeper with her. Felt like she was just trying to bait me, and I wasn’t having any of it. Didn’t get as far as any talk about downloading software, but I reckon that was probably the next step she was gonna push.

I got a call from a well-spoken woman saying she was with Amazon. She told me some bloke called David Thompson had attempted to access my account. She then tried to persuade me to download a programme on my computer. I declined, and she gave me a phone number to call back, saying it was Amazon Security so I'd know it was legit. The weird thing was the call showed up using my local area code on my phone.

Got a call from someone called 'Anna' claiming to be from 'Amazon Security' on 02920695079, a number linked to Cardiff. She said a 'David Thompson' was trying to use my card to buy a phone. I checked with my bank, and everything looked fine, no odd transactions. The police told me this was a scam! 'Anna' even gave me that number to prove she was legit, but clearly, she’s just a fraud!

Really dodgy bloke calling himself John Walker, sounds believable enough. Had almost the exact same thing happen like that other report from July 29th; he also rings from 0203 290 3250 and other local numbers around here. Funny thing is, those numbers match ones from way back when Virgin Media’s old cable network was set up over 22 years ago. The first call came pretending to be the Amazon Fraud Team.

Today, Monday 8th July, I got a call from a bloke claiming my Amazon account was compromised because someone tried to buy an iPhone. He said he’d prevented the purchase and “saved” me from a scam. Then he wanted me to install Microsoft TeamViewer, which would’ve let him see everything on my computer - every site I visited and every key I pressed. These scammers are really good at sounding genuine, so watch out. They’re definitely still up to no good.

Something that happened to me too. I got a call on 07740 075982 from a guy named Peter Williams who said he was with the cybercrime team and that my Amazon account had been compromised. He gave me a number, 0208 133 1884, which he said was their main office. When I rang it back, a woman called "Sarah" picked up and said she was from "Microsoft Windows Checking" - both had thick Indian accents and felt like a scam all along. Next time Peter rang, I told him to buzz off and warned him I'd report to the cops if he bothered me again.

Had pretty much the same experience. The guy said his name was James Russ, sounded Indian, and claimed to be from Amazon's tech support. He told me there was some bloke called Thompson from Devon who'd tried to buy a smartphone using my account. Then he kept going on about how my IP had been hacked and asked me to turn on my computer so he could ‘fix’ it. Felt really dodgy to me.

Beware of this number, it’s definitely scammers. They managed to trick my elderly dad into giving them access to his computer and his bank account, all by claiming they were installing some kind of security software to keep him safe. They charged him £250 online and spent hours messing around on his PC. Thankfully, he told me afterwards and I told him to stay off his computer. We also reported everything to the bank. Seriously, don’t answer if they call you. They even tried ringing him again this morning from some Italian number, but he hung up straight away. Absolute crooks.

My elderly folks got a call from someone claiming to be Maria Kay from Amazon, saying their account had been hacked by someone in Devon and they needed to access their computer. When my parents asked for a contact number to check, another person answered, confirming Maria Kay was a security officer at Amazon. Thankfully, we rang Amazon ourselves and they told us they never call customers, only email them!

My elderly mum got a call from a man with an Indian accent who called himself Phil Jones. He said he was with Microsoft and spent about an hour on the phone with her. I think he tricked her into installing some kind of malware on her PC while talking. When he tried to charge her £300 for a service, she told him she needed to chat with me first. He mentioned it would’ve been £700 if she was younger, so it could’ve been even worse. Luckily, she hung up before giving any bank info. Now her computer won’t turn on at all, and we’re not sure what to do next.

A woman claiming to be Jennifer Edwards from “Amazon Cybersecurity” called me from 02554729695 and said someone had made a smartphone order using my Amazon account. She told me Amazon had sent me emails about it, but since I hadn’t got any, she said malware was on my PC blocking the emails and spying on me online. She then asked to access my computer to remove the malware, which I declined. After that, she told me to call 02081331884 to verify her identity. I ended up finding your site and now I’m quite certain it was a scam.

I got a call from someone named Susan Francis claiming to be from Amazon security. She said I needed to look at a ‘white flag’ on my screen because of a security alert from a message I supposedly sent. But she didn’t seem to know my email or what I bought at all. So, I told her to give me her phone number so I could ring her back later.

Today I got a call from a bloke named John Hill, nicely spoken but asking to get into my computer. Honestly, you’ve got to be firm and chuck them off quick. Funny thing is, the day before, I had a call from the same number but it was a rude woman named Ashley Lee, trying her luck for my personal info. I dialled 1471 to check, turns out John Hill’s other number is 02554744055 and Ashley Lee uses 02554760327. Best thing is to just hang up and don’t tell them a thing!

On Tuesday 16th October, around teatime, I got a call from this number. I was quite tied up feeding the kids at the time. The person claimed to be from Microsoft and said someone tried to hack my computer. Sounds like a scam to me, so I’ve gone ahead and cancelled all my bank cards just to be safe. He called back this morning, trying to say he could fix my computer, but I told him it was already with a professional and that I’d be reporting him. Then he just hung up.

Turns out, they actually install malware and spyware to steal your info. Honestly, they're just scammers taking advantage of vulnerable folks and it’s really upsetting.
