They claimed our computer was apparently sending a considerable number of error messages and enquired whether I was at my device. I’ve heard tales of individuals falling victim to such scams, so I insisted they provide me with a name and a contact number for a follow-up. They provided the number 0208 133 0779, claiming to be "Alan Woodward," though I couldn't quite place the accent as distinctly British.

This morning, I received a phone call from a woman using the number 0208 133 0779, claiming to be from Global Micro tech, insisting that there was a virus infecting my computer. I told her that I’d ring her back later. However, upon doing a bit of digging online, I discovered that it was a scam. Best not to grant them any access to your computer! I decided against calling her back.
