8 yearsThis particular number seems to keep calling me incessantly. Earlier today, I decided to pick up, and to my surprise, the chap on the other end claimed I was in line for a refund from HMRC worth a whopping £2500. He then inquired about my preferred payment method. However, it didn't take long for me to suss out that it was all a ruse. I cheekily suggested that he direct the money towards the police pension fund at New Scotland Yard. At that point, he abruptly ended the call!HMRCNewScotland Yard8 yearsI received a call claiming to be from a Government Department about a refund related to some charges on my bank account, supposedly amounting to £2,500. When they asked how I preferred to receive the money-either by cheque or directly into my bank-things took a turn. The moment I mentioned I wanted a cheque, they abruptly ended the call. I had my suspicions from the outset that it was all a ruse!Government Department8 yearsThe chap on the line was rather persuasive, I must say. If I hadn’t been aware that the so-called “5% tax payment” for my unexpected 2500 quid could not possibly be settled with an iTunes voucher, I might have been taken in by this ruse. It's quite remarkable, really; he managed to keep me engaged in conversation for a full 32 minutes!8 yearsFollowing numerous chats on the phone-I'd say about six or so-I finally had the gumption to let him know that he was, in fact, a scam artist, as I'd read about online. His response was something else entirely; he unleashed a torrent of foul language and went off on a mad tirade for a good while. I shan't repeat the appalling things he said, but suffice it to say, it was downright shocking. This number, which purports to represent the Ministry of Justice, is a particularly nasty scam that one should steer clear of!Ministry of Justice8 yearsI’ve been receiving calls from an insistent gentleman of Asian descent asserting he’s from the Ministry of Justice. He’s trying to coax me into making an iTunes payment of £125, supposedly to unlock a cheque for £2500. He continues to ring me up, inquiring whether I’ve popped over to Tesco to acquire a payment card. I think I’ll play along with his little game for a bit longer before I send him packing!Ministry of JusticeTesco8 yearsI received an absolutely dodgy message claiming that a PPI refund cheque for £2500 was on its way to my home. They were probing around to see if I reside alone and if I'm a retiree. Total scam, if you ask me!8 yearsComplete con! Don't be taken in by some bloke claiming that a cheque from your bank is on its way due to alleged overcharges. They cleverly mention that a representative will drop by at a mutually convenient time, but hold on - first, they need you to fork out £300 for some supposed "authorisation." And, of course, they can't simply deduct it from the cheque made out to you. Honestly, do they think I'm a total mug? I've warned them that I’d be going to the police about this shifty business, and *poof*, he hung up straight away. Absolute charlatans!Submit Your Own Report (020 8133 0252)
