Phone number ☎️ 02081330221 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving calls from individuals falsely claiming to represent National Grid, various energy suppliers, or meter companies. Callers often allege faulty or overcharged electricity meters, promising refunds or forced meter replacements, while demanding personal and bank details. Numerous recipients report aggressive, rude, and harassing behaviour, with threats of disconnection if demands are not met. The callers use convincing tactics, including providing supposed reference numbers and impersonating legitimate companies, but verification through official suppliers consistently reveals these to be fraudulent. The scam appears linked to a call centre operating offshore, and victims are strongly advised against sharing any information or agreeing to appointments. Reporting to official fraud authorities is recommended to help prevent further victimisation.

They rang me saying they needed a meter reading to sort out a refund for an overcharge, but I got a bit wary when they asked for photos of my bills via WhatsApp or email. They emailed me a request that looked like it was from British Gas but used a strange "mail[###]" domain. I just made up an excuse and ended the call. Now, they’ve sent another email pretending to be from directenergyservices/ofgem, threatening to cut off my supply if I don’t send the bill pics. The number on the email is the same one they called from.

They claimed to be from E-on energy and said I needed to switch to a different provider, but I didn't pay any attention to them. Today I got another call from the same number saying they'd visit my house and cut off my electricity. When I contacted Eon directly, they said there's no issue like that. So watch out for this number, it's suspicious.

I’ve come across a chap hailing from Pakistan who’s associated with Opus Energy. He goes by the name Azan. Unfortunately, he misled me into signing a contract that wasn’t what I expected. To add insult to injury, he then requested £300 from me, promising to switch me to EDF Energy at a more favourable rate. If anyone’s keen to track him down, I’m happy to share his actual name and put you in touch with Opus Energy’s customer service. I’m also more than willing to assist if there's a push to get this rogue sorted out. Best wishes, Baktash.

Cant belive this was really a London number calling me. How do these scammers abroad manage to use UK landline numbers to hide their true location and trick people? Already reported this to 'Action Fraud'. Heard a few folks have contacted their MPs about these scams, asking why there's no action to stop them. I’m thinking of doing the same. Something’s gotta give to put an end to these #@!! scammers.

I just got a phone call from a man named 'Logan' with a strong Indian accent. He said he was from the National Grid Station and insisted our meter needed replacing. When I told him I organise such things through my energy supplier, he snapped back saying it had nothing to do with them and was his company's job. He tried to set up a time to come out. I said I'd reach out to my provider myself, and he offered to email them for me. No chance I was handing over any info to this bloke. He gave me the number above and said I could contact them to arrange a visit. Not happening!

Beware, this is definitely a dodgy operation. They claim to represent the National Grid for some meter update, but really, they’re just fishing for your meter information to pull a fast one on you. I reached out to my energy provider, and they assured me that they’d notify me directly if any meter changes were needed. Considering mine is merely four years old and functioning splendidly, there’s absolutely no reason for a change. It’s worth noting that the callers seemed to be of Asian descent. Stay vigilant!

Then he wanted bank details. I told him I wasn’t the owner, and used the name Angela Davies - just made it up. He said he already had my info and just needed bank details to send the money. I’ve been receiving calls from a bloke named Alle who seems to think he can bully me into paying him £200 in cash, insisting it’s his “personal number.” He claims that’s the price for getting my info taken off his list. Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from Eon, saying our electricity meter had issues and we were due a refund of £576.47. He mentioned someone would be coming next Monday to install a new smart meter. I got suspicious when he said we were on a business tariff, when it's clearly a private home, and that the account was under my husband's company name rather than his personal one. On 6th March 2018, someone called from Allee Farhad claiming they’d be fitting a new smart meter because we were apparently being overcharged.
