I kept getting voice messages from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying I was going to be arrested and left a number to call. It sounded dodgy so I rang Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040, and they were really helpful explaining how to report the scam properly.

Over the past two weeks, I’ve received about 7 calls where a robotic voice claimed to be from HMRC, saying there’s a warrant out for my arrest with the case number TM1572 and warrant code WC4589. Each call came from a different phone number, including 0203820050, 02032861060, 02032864400, 02083381223, and 0208133011. Very odd and a bit worrying, but it’s clearly a scam.

Got this call yesterday, proper annoying and just a waste of time. Makes me so mad that people do this. If it was up to me, these pests would be seriously punished. Proper scary stuff! Someone rang me, gave me a number and warned me about legal trouble and getting arrested soon. This was the second time they called me and honestly, it scared the life out of me. The first time I tried calling back the number they gave, the line was busy. The second time, some bloke answered. When I mentioned the reference DM4589, he just said it was a scam. Still, he did claim to be from the Tax office, so I thought I’d give it another go.

Today I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, a very polite man said there’s a High Court Warrant out for me and I needed to ring a certain number straight away. I was so rattled I didn’t even write the number down properly. After thinking a bit, it dawned on me that it was a scam because something didn’t sit right.
