Reports on phone number 02081258468
7 yearsToday, my 82-year-old dad received a call from this number (13/11/19). The individual on the line claimed to be Roy Morrison from the FCA and insisted that my dad was due a sum of money for overpayments made to his bank. They stated that a solicitor would swing by the house with the cheque. However, they insisted my father needed to purchase an Amazon gift card with £150 on it, which was supposedly for the Inland Revenue, before the solicitor's visit to deliver the cheque. They even asked my dad to provide a specific time for the solicitor’s arrival at our home. Fortunately, my dad couldn’t provide that information, prompting the caller to tell him they’d ring back later. When I attempted to return the call, the number turned out to be unreachable. This is obviously a scam and an attempted financial con, as it’s ludicrous to think the FCA functions in such a manner. No legitimate bank would behave this way, nor would they demand payment to the Inland Revenue in the form of an Amazon gift card! I urge everyone to refrain from sharing any personal details-whether it's your home address, banking information, or even your availability-do not get ensnared in this deceitful trap.Roy MorrisonFCAAmazonInland RevenueSubmit Your Own Report (020 8125 8468)
