Got a missed call really early, like 8:30 in the morning, and when I rang back they said it was from the tax office. Honestly, it sounded fishy to me and definitely didn’t seem legit at that time of day.

I just had a call from someone saying they were an "officer" Julia or Jennifer Brown from the Inland Revenue. They threatened that if me or my solicitor didn’t ring back, there’d be consequences. Felt a bit fishy to me, so I tried calling them back but the call never went through. Seems dodgy, like a scam or a prank if you ask me!

Somebody called pretending to be Jenifer Brown from HMRC. When I rang back on a different number, the bloke asked for my name. I explained that my accountant handles all that HMRC stuff, so it’s not me. Then he just hung up straight away.

Received a call from an Asian gentleman claiming to be with HMRC, trying to discuss my postcode. The moment I requested he send me a letter to verify his authenticity, he abruptly shifted the conversation to some rather inappropriate suggestions about having a 'good time'. Got a missed call from this number and rang back. Some bloke with an Asian accent answered with a simple "hello". I told him I’d seen a missed call from his number. He then asked me my name, so I asked who he was and why he needed my name. After a bit of back and forth, he just said he was a "director". I asked what company he was with, and he said "foxstar". Didn’t sound right, so I just hung up. Doesn't seem like someone I know.

I had quite the alarming experience with a woman who had a rather overbearing and aggressive tone. She insisted that if I didn’t ring back right away or my lawyer didn’t reach out, I'd find myself facing court proceedings. She introduced herself as someone named Jennifer and stated that she was with the Inland Revenue. What a load of nonsense! The tax authority doesn’t operate in such a menacing fashion, nor would they ever demand immediate action over the phone without providing a reference number or my National Insurance details. They certainly wouldn’t pursue matters like this without confirming my identity first. Total scam alert!
