Got a call from +44 20 8123 8435 saying I owed Microsoft some money. Totally a scam! They wanted to get remote access to my phone so I just blocked the number and cancelled my bank card to be safe. Don’t trust these lot!

Got an email claiming it was from Microsoft saying a payment of £499 was due for an Office subscription after a free trial ended. The email only had my son’s email, no name or anything else. It asked me to call a certain number if I didn’t make the payment. My son’s a teenager and swears he hasn’t given any card info, and usually you’d need to put in proper bank details for a trial anyway. Also, £499 is way pricier than what Windows normally costs. Feels like a scam trying to get me to ring them so they can steal my real info. Definitely doesn’t seem legit.
