I received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be with BT Openreach. They mentioned something about my broadband not performing as it should and wanted to “assist” by checking my computer. Then, to add to the oddness, they insisted an engineer would need to pop round next week to have a look, and to top it all off, they mentioned I was entitled to £200 in compensation if I could just provide my bank details. At that point, my alarm bells were ringing, so I decided to end the call.
