What a dreadful con this is! There are individuals masquerading as Carphone Warehouse, and they’re rather convincing, to be honest. They dispatch a mobile that’s completely incorrect, then request you to send it back, assuring you that the right one will be forthcoming. But lo and behold, it never shows up. It’s rather suspicious since it appears the return address leads to a residential property, where they simply snatch up the returned devices. Meanwhile, you’re stuck with a contract in hand, yet no phone to speak of. I contacted my bank, and they were quite familiar with the scam. It seems O2 is somehow linked to this racket. Honestly, O2 ought to revamp their procedures; it’s far too easy for these tricksters to carry on with their antics!

Beware of these dodgy individuals with thick accents claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse offering a mobile phone upgrade. They even went so far as to send an email pretending to confirm my order. Somehow, they had my banking info! They insisted that Vodafone had supplied it. Shockingly, they attempted to take payments on eight different occasions. I ended up with two transactions of £30 through EE, and another £30 with O2. The last two times, they were after a whopping £365! Avoid these con artists at all costs. I've filed a report with my bank and am now escalating this to the police.
