I got a call from a woman with an Indian or Asian accent talking about a car crash from a couple years back, asking if I recalled it. That was the fourth time in just ten days! It’s clearly a scam, and honestly, I find it quite risky. People who are more trusting might easily fall for it and share private info. I told them to buzz off and hung up right away.

Absolutely annoying company! I’ve never used them and don’t plan to, but they keep ringing me up nonstop. Every time I say I’m not interested and ask to be taken off their list, they just ignore it. Got a call from an Indian woman saying she was with a firm of solicitors based in London. She mentioned my name and number were on a list of folks who supposedly had injuries from accidents, but she said the list came from another organisation whose name I didn’t catch. I told her I haven’t had any kind of accident, then hung up. To be honest, she sounded more confused than annoyed. Since someone else in my family has had an injury claim, I tried calling back, but the number didn’t even ring, which pretty much proves it was a scam.

Had a run in with someone about a car accident from last year, this bloke calls non stop saying he’s with the other party’s insurer. Feels like he’s just trying to get details from me. Last August I was involved in a accident, same as a few other people. It was the Indian guy on the phone who spoke to me. Oddly they already had my car's registration number and even knew the date of the accident, so I thought they were legit at first. They said I would get £4000 compensation and that it would arrive by next week. After that, they started asking who my insurer was, my birthday, email and home address. It made me worried because I wondered where they got all my details from. I ended the call.

Noticed a missed call from this number, seemed like a London area code (I do have some relatives there). Exactly what happened to me, I posted a few ads on gumtree for mx5 bits and got a call on the third one, was busy so ignored it. Then got another call about 10 mins later but saw the caller ID was some dodgy 't####r' or something, so just left it. Looks like these scammers are trolling gumtree car ads using that car crash trick. If you look up their number it says some London office - if you’re nearby, maybe go and superglue their locks or something!

There's some dodgy outfit in Birmingham that scrapes phone numbers off Gumtree ads and then sells them on to a call centre in India. You’ll get a ring from this number asking about a car accident claim, claiming to be from the UK Finance Department. If you block that number, they might ring you from this mobile - 07851 765502. Unfortunately, Gumtree can’t do much about it since they can't stop some muppet who goes through every single ad, collecting phone numbers like it's their job.
