I was informed that there’s a sum of £3,000 awaiting me due to bank overcharges. However, they mentioned that I would need to settle a fee for the individual who visits my residence with the cheque, supposedly to cover their administrative costs and other expenses.

Just like others said, when those lot from the ministry of justice called, they told them to get lost. Honestly, I wish the ministry managed to catch them proper and chuck them miles away.

Got a call about an hour back. We never pick up unknown numbers, and as usual, no voicemail was left - which I reckon they would if it was really important. Another commenter suggested checking out the police’s Action Fraud site. I always report anyone claiming false things like they’re from HMRC, my bank, or my internet provider. The tricky part is that most of these scammers operate from abroad using spoofed numbers. Maybe one day, someone powerful enough - like a crime boss or oligarch - will get fed up and hit back hard, giving these scammers a lesson they won’t forget!

They had a weird accent and said they were from some sort of 'ministry', but honestly I could hardly make out what they were trying to say. I just told them to buzz off and ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

I got a call from a lady saying she was from the government and the department of justice. I quickly said I wasn’t interested in chatting and then she just hung up. It’s mad we have no real protection against these scams. The phone provider really ought to do something and block these nuisance numbers.

I got a call from someone called Benjamin, said he was from the Ministry of Justice, talking about some bank refund. His English accent sounded proper dodgy and he seemed a bit lost when I told him there’s no one here with that name. Then, when I asked for his number, the call just vanished. I used 1471 to catch the number. Spent ages trying to find the right official place to report this scam attempt - proper confusing!

Apparently, this “ministry” claimed they had to pay me £3000, just like everyone else I’ve heard from. Weird how the amount is always exactly £3000. Don’t be daft and fall for this scam.

This guy was a bloke with a heavy foreign accent, not great at speaking English. He said he was from the Ministry of Justice and claimed a bank had overcharged me, so I was due some money back. I asked him what country he was calling from, but he just asked if I could understand him. I told him he was talking about a refund! Then I asked again, this time in Danish, which country he was from. He ended up insulting me, which just showed how bad his English really was. I told him I was recording the call, and he hung up straight away!

Got a missed call from this number earlier. Had a quick look at the comments and honestly, what absolute muppets! It’s clear they just snap up a load of UK phone numbers, use them for a short time, then ditch them. Every time I block one, a fresh one pops up with a new scam. I’ve been flooded with these dodgy calls lately, dozens in just a few months. I’m thinking of contacting my MP like someone suggested here, just to try something. Dunno if it’ll do much, but hey, can’t hurt to try, right?

Someone rang up saying they were from the Ministry of Justice and that I was owed some money from a bank the government supposedly recovered funds from. Got a call from this number but it cut off once my voicemail started. We're on the TPS list, so why is it so hard to track down who's behind this London number and take legal action for the scam? Marked as risky thanks to all the similar reports from others.

Got a ring from someone claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice, saying I’d been overcharged bank fees and was due a refund of about £3000. I told them to just post the cheque over. Then the person asked for my Passport number, saying a “solicitor” called Julie Shaw would come by and needed to confirm it was me. I told them the solicitor could check my ID when they showed up with the cheque. The caller soon twigged I wasn’t falling for it and quietly ended the call.

Received a rather intriguing phone call claiming I was due a £4000 reimbursement for bank charges, allegedly from the FCA. However, they insisted I needed to fork out £200 to HMRC first, using something they referred to as a "steam card." That’s where I drew the line and ended the conversation.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who said her name was Rachael. She claimed to be from the Ministry of Justice and told me they’d processed my form about bank fees. According to her, I was due a cheque for £3000 with no charges at all. But then she added I needed to pay a 5% fee - not to them or the government though. When I asked why I’d have to pay anything if there were no fees, she said it wasn’t for them or the government but went to the Inland Revenue. I pointed out that the Inland Revenue is part of the government, and she just ended the call.
