My mate's mum got really shook up, they told her there was a warrant for her arrest. Complete scam, I tried ringing the number they gave but no reply at all.

Got a call from someone saying they were from "inland revenue" and that I was about to get arrested or something #eyeroll#. Pretty obvious scam, especially since no way you’d ring HMRC and not have to wait ages in a queue first.

Had a call from some lady claiming they were checking me out for dodging taxes. Complete rubbish, I’m retired and don’t earn anything anyway, just do charity stuff for free. This has all the signs of a scam. People like that should be caught and locked up for a long time, like twenty years minimum.

My mum got a call from a bloke saying there was an arrest warrant out for her over some tax dodging from 2016-2017, claimed all the paperwork had been sent back. He wanted her personal info but she wouldn’t give any and said she’d wait for their call later. About 45 minutes later, the number rang again but it showed no caller ID, so she didn’t pick up. Then, the same number rang but this time a woman answered saying “HMRC.” Thing is, HMRC never ring people directly. It’s definitely a scam. It really spooked my mum. We’ve reported it to Action Fraud now.

Got a voicemail that felt like it was meant to scare me. I rang them back to check some info they'd supposedly have about me, but they turned pretty hostile real fast. Ended up just hanging up. What a load of time-wasting, dodgy rubbish.

Got a call with a recorded message saying I was facing arrest for not paying taxes. When I rang back, this bloke with an Asian accent said he was John Clark and gave me some sort of ID number. I mentioned that their number showed up flagged for fraud and told him to speak to my accountant instead. He just insisted I was going to prison and then hung up on me. Definitely a scam!

Got a call from someone sounding American, claiming to be from 'HMRC' saying there was an arrest warrant out for me. Total SCAM! My partner actually works at HMRC and said they never call folks like that - they always send stuff by letter. Plus, any arrest warrant has to come with proper written proof, no exceptions. They asked for my name and phone number to "check the records" about this warrant. Yeah, right! Proper creepy and bloody awful scammers. Absolute w#nkers!!!

They kept ringing me over and over, I missed most but eventually picked up. The guy on the line, sounded Indian or something, started going on about me dodging tax back in 2006, same old story you hear. I wasn’t having it and told him I’d check with HMRC myself. He got a bit defensive then, but honestly, I cracked up when I heard a dog barking noisily in the background - proper giveaway!
