Definitely a dodgy call, but what freaked me out was that the person on the other end knew my full name, address and landline number. I told them I didn’t own a car, but they just kept pushing, kinda rude and with a foreign accent, changing the story as they went because they wanted me to keep going with whatever it was. When I finally said again that I don’t have a car, haven’t been in any crashes, and only use the bus, they just hung up. The only place I think they got my landline from is my CV, which I’d sent to a bunch of foreign recruitment firms based in SE Asia.

Some random number called me and it was completely silent. I answered with a 'Hello?' and this voice, which I reckon was Indian, just said 'Hello' back and then hung up. I guess they couldn’t handle me messing about, making them waste their time.

Someone rang up pretending to be from the ‘National Insurance Survey’ and somehow knew my first name, which made it sound really legit. I chatted with the bloke for a bit to figure out how he got my details and what he was on about. First, he said I’d had a car accident in 2020 - wrong. Then he tried saying I’d been a passenger - also wrong. He couldn’t back up any of his claims, which was a dead giveaway. I knew it was dodgy from the start and ended up having a laugh messing with him a bit.

03335565847: This bloke called saying I'd been in a car accident back in 2019, claiming he had a report from an insurance firm. I haven't even been behind the wheel for more than five years. No idea what his deal was. I just kept the chat going for about ten minutes to mess with him. Proper dodgy sounding guy. Said his name was Daniel. Total muppet.

Looks like a load of scammers to me. They called the number I only use for my Gumtree ads, but since lockdown I havent put up any adverts, so they mustve grabbed it from some old listing. Poor sods, better luck next year!

Some bloke from “Road to Recovery” rang me about a car crash I supposedly had (which never took place). I told him to “f### off” cause I was in a right mood, and then he rang straight back. Ended up blocking the number.

Just got another scam call on my phone from the same number 020 8123 5761. They are so persistent, never stopping. I got like 5 calls from them just yesterday! Usually I just ignore or stay silent on the line. But yesterday I thought I'd try to annoy them back and waste their time. Right after they hung up, I called them back from my landline with my number hidden and just let it ring out, then called again as soon as it stopped. Of course they never picked up but it felt good to know I was blocking them from making any calls.

02081235761 rang claiming to be from some made-up solicitors about "my car crash"! Feeling a bit cheeky, I spun him a wild tale about a pile-up with 6 cars and a bus all crashing into mine, turning me into some sort of car sandwich! Was gutted when he dropped the call, I was keen to keep chatting, but he called back thrice so I ended up blocking him. Proper laugh for my day! :)

Omah Mahmood from Road To Recovery Solicitors rang me up. He’d obviously got my info about a crash I was in earlier this year from the other insurance lot. Then he went on about cold calling being against the rules now and said he’d report it to the SRA, and weirdly, he just ended the call!
