On the 22nd of November, I received the same sort of call, with someone requesting a donation under the guise of helping me secure a hefty sum of seven thousand pounds. They assured me that the money would land in my bank within a mere 45 seconds if I contributed. Naturally, I went ahead and made the donation, only to be hit with another demand for £325 so they could supposedly "process" the transaction. Now I find myself in the frustrating process of trying to reclaim my donation. They mentioned it should have been in my account earlier today, but I'm far from convinced! This is nothing short of a flagrant scam, as it's well known that no council gives anything away for free!

Received an identical call on the 22nd of November, where they were soliciting a donation to supposedly secure a payout of seven thousand pounds, claiming it would be transferred to our bank within a mere 45 seconds. We went ahead and made the donation, only to be hit with another request for an additional £325 for the "wiring" process to deposit the promised amount into our account. Now we're in a tussle to retrieve our initial donation, which they assured would be refunded earlier today! It’s obvious this is a gross scam, as local councils certainly don’t hand out cash for free!
