After looking into it, I found out they're not actually from the Ministry of Justice like they claimed, and advised against buying any ucash cheques from them. I’m expecting another call on Saturday with more instructions, but I’ve already reported it to the police just in case. Probably because I asked loads of questions, they might have taken me off their list. Still, I’m a bit on edge thinking they might actually show up, knowing I could be dealing with scammers. I told him I wasn’t buying any Ukash voucher and he started asking about how much money I had at home and in my bank, which I flat out said was none of his business. He phoned back a couple more times, pestering me why I wasn’t going through with it. I told him it sounded like a scam and that I'd checked the number online. He said people just write nasty things on the internet and it wasn’t true. He told me I'd be getting £2400 from a PPI claim I supposedly made. Then he said I had to pay 10% of that - £240 - in UKASH vouchers: 2 vouchers for £100 and one for £40. He said he’d ring me when I was at a cash machine, and once I gave him the voucher codes, the £2400 would be transferred straight into my bank account.
