Received a call today asking for £442. It had a rather dodgy Pakistani accent. I told them to get lost!

I recently received an unexpected call from the number in question, where the caller insisted that I had a cheque waiting for collection at a post office in Preston. They mentioned that I needed to communicate with a certain Peter Clark, who supposedly had possession of my cheque. To my astonishment, I was told I had to fork out £489.00 to retrieve it. When I explained that I couldn't possibly raise that sum, the tone quickly soured, and the individual became quite aggressive. Concerned, I reached out to the NHS headquarters, as the caller claimed to be affiliated with them. They promptly informed me that he wasn't listed in their records and warned me I was likely dealing with a scammer. The woman I spoke with took the initiative to look up the number and discovered a wealth of similar complaints. I've reported this matter to the fraud prevention authorities and sincerely hope they can track down this despicable individual who seeks to exploit those in vulnerable situations. Please do spread the word to caution others!

I'm convinced this number is nothing but a complete scam, and I'd advise anyone to steer clear of it or at the very least, proceed with extreme caution if you do happen to pick up. I received a call from this number today and, foolishly, I answered. The chap on the other end started jabbering about some car accident from five years ago that I had no part in. He claimed I was entitled to a cheque for £4986, but somehow I had to cough up £437 for "expenses" and would need to trek 18 miles to Preston to collect it. Right, as if! When I asked him to clarify, he became quite aggressive. A legitimate insurance firm would send proper documentation regarding such matters. Besides, there’s no claim for compensation since I had halted that claim ages ago. It’s definitely a London number, and honestly, they must think we're all fools.

What a bunch of incompetents! They attempted to con me by claiming I was owed £4,212 for a car accident involving my wife, who was completely blameless. They insisted I pay £421 upfront via MoneyGram to some woman named Jean Buckland - apparently from the UK? Who on earth is that? When I firmly told them I wasn't handing over a penny in advance, their response was to raise their voice and dismissively say, “Have a good day, Sir.” Oh, the irony! Clearly, my response caught them off guard. Cheers to that!
