I received multiple calls from a supposed Ecro representative claiming that I had outstanding funds due to me. However, when I attempted to return the call, the number wouldn’t accept my call and prompted me to try again later. Quite suspicious, wouldn’t you say?

I had a similar experience, to be honest. I placed my faith in them and went ahead with the payment to set up a new account, as I was missing my IIC. Thankfully, they provided me with a fresh one, and I managed to access my funds within just a week. There was no pushing or urgency from their side, which I appreciated. I also took the liberty to research the company online, and everything appeared to be above board.

Same experience here, but now they’re masquerading as Carna Capital, a name that seems to have some history - or at least it did! A chap named 'James' provided what seemed like a rather plausible rundown about funds in two escrow accounts tied to a defunct business, claiming we could lay claim to those. He went through all the details, even discussing the day a courier would deliver the cheques. Just when we thought it was all above board, he suddenly mentions, "Oh, we'll need your IIC numbers." He’s supposed to ring back, giving us time to dig up these elusive numbers. I reached out to the company’s liquidator, who confirmed that this is indeed a scam, as others have reported similar encounters. Apparently, they even hinted at setting up new IIC numbers for fees between £900 and £2000. It’s quite disheartening to see how many con artists are out there!

I completely resonate with the sentiments shared previously, albeit my experience involved differing sums. I’ve put forth a challenge to the company in question to validate their authenticity-though I find it rather unlikely I’ll receive any further communication from them. They requested an IIC number from me, and I’ve kept all the relevant documents. Just to note, today is the 28th of February, 2018.

Received a call supposedly from Origin Finance regarding some funds trapped in an Escrow account due to a firm going bust. They requested the ICC number for the initial company, but having gone through all my documents, I found there’s no mention of any ICC number. They went on about having to create a fresh account at a fee of £163,2500 or alternatively, I could fork out £5000 for a new Escrow, promising a return of that amount along with my original sum. Interestingly, Companies House categorises Origin Finance as a property rental enterprise, though I might have jotted down the name incorrectly.

I received a call from a firm identifying themselves as Origin, discussing something regarding money held in escrow. However, their responses felt rather dodgy when I asked for further details. They were particularly keen on obtaining my personal investment number, which raised my suspicions. I have serious reservations about their authenticity.
