Thankfully, they provided me with a fresh one, and I managed to access my funds within just a week. There was no pushing or urgency from their side, which I appreciated. A chap named 'James' provided what seemed like a rather plausible rundown about funds in two escrow accounts tied to a defunct business, claiming we could lay claim to those. He went through all the details, even discussing the day a courier would deliver the cheques. Just when we thought it was all above board, he suddenly mentions, "Oh, we'll need your IIC numbers." He’s supposed to ring back, giving us time to dig up these elusive numbers. I reached out to the company’s liquidator, who confirmed that this is indeed a scam, as others have reported similar encounters. Apparently, they even hinted at setting up new IIC numbers for fees between £900 and £2000.
