9 yearsNot really certain about it.9 yearsJust like many others, they tend to call me around the crack of dawn and occasionally during the early hours of the evening.9 yearsJust a few days back, I received a call from this number. My encounter was quite akin to what others have described here: I don't typically pick up calls from unrecognised numbers, but I made an exception this time since it began with 020. A lady with a distinct foreign accent was on the other end, evidently struggling to relay a pre-written script. She went on about how, as a valued BT customer of long standing, I was entitled to a plethora of fantastical offers - free this and slashed prices on that. It all seemed so far-fetched that I realised it was a scam and promptly ended the call.9 yearsThis number kept calling my father repeatedly, with a woman by the name of Hannah claiming to be from BT. She mentioned that since Dad was such a valued customer, they wanted to offer him a discount on his call charges-though the reality is that my dad isn't even a customer of theirs! They then proceeded to ask for his credit card information, which prompted him to hang up the phone. This harassment continued, as they rang back multiple times. On one occasion, I was there and picked up the phone. Hannah was incredibly rude and maintained that my dad had a BT account, despite the truth. During our conversation, she accused me of wasting her time and abruptly terminated the call. I've since reported the number to our phone provider and blocked it.HannahBTDad9 yearsThis number got in touch again claiming to be from BT's accounts team. They kept pushing about some kind of refund. When I told them to send the info through the post or show me where it’s on BT’s website, they just backed off. Quite suspicious if you ask me.BT9 yearsEvery morning, without fail, this number gives us a ring at approximately half past eight. Strangely enough, there’s utter silence on the other end once we pick up. It’s quite puzzling, considering someone appears to have misappropriated our BT information, and we actually moved on from BT nearly a year back.BT9 yearsThese muppets rang again, this time some woman with an Asian accent who my hubby just couldn’t follow. She got proper rude when he said he didn’t understand her. Now I remember, the same woman called me on 10th March. I’m sick to death of these scammers pretending to be from BT and others. They really ought to get fined big time. I’m thinking of getting a BT phone that blocks all unknown numbers, cos mine only blocks about ten, and these lot keep switching numbers. We’re on the TPS and ex-directory, so I reckon some other provider must’ve leaked our number to these scammers.BTTelephone Preference Service9 yearsI hung up the moment they inquired about the name of my bank. I’m presuming this has nothing to do with British Telecom at all.British Telecom9 yearsGot a call claiming to be from BT about a refund or something, but it was clearly a scam. They did know my old address though, which was pretty unsettling. When I asked where they got that from, they swore at me and then just cut the call. Definitely felt like they were trying to fish for more info.BT9 yearsI've been receiving calls from this number multiple times throughout the day. I've chosen to disregard them since I suspect it's a scam. They never leave a message on my voicemail, which is rather irritating!9 yearsI've been getting calls from this number like all day long, and every time it goes to my voicemail, there's no message left. It's really frustrating! Someone needs to find out who they are and put an end to these annoying calls!9 yearsThis particular number seems to give me a ring around half eight each morning, yet when I pick up, there’s nobody on the other end. Quite peculiar, really!9 yearsThis morning, I was jolted out of my slumber by a call from 02081114222, claiming I was a 'valued long-term customer'-or something to that effect. They had quite an extensive grasp of my personal information, courtesy of BT, but when they inquired about my bank for the direct debit, I promptly hung up. Take heed if this number rings you…BT9 yearsI received a couple of phone calls today purporting to be from BT, claiming they had an exclusive deal or refund to discuss. It's all a con. They wanted me to verify my bank information under the guise of processing the refund. Utterly fraudulent!BT9 yearsGot a fresh 0208 number ringing non-stop, probably the same annoying lot from last week who kept calling with that other 0208. That one finally stopped, but now this new one’s bombarding me again. Honestly, these muppets never learn - they must think we’ll believe they’re from BT, Microsoft, or our bank. Yeah, right. Blocked them again, but I’m sure in a few days another 0208 will pop up trying the same nonsense. Such a waste of time!BTMicrosoft9 yearsHad a call from this number around 9:15 this morning. A woman with a strong Asian accent was on the line, claiming she wanted to discuss my BT bill. Since we haven't had any dealings with BT since the mid-80s, I was quite dubious and decided to hang up. Tried ringing the number back, but it was unrecognised. Definitely a scam!BT9 yearsI answered the call but all I got was weird sounds, kinda like one of those old electronic toys from the 70s. There was no one speaking, so I just hung up.9 yearsI've gotten calls from this number a few times over the past week, but no one ever spoke. Today, when I tried to get her to explain the odd deal and asked if I could find it on the BT website for proof, she just cut me off and ended the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me.BTSubmit Your Own Report (020 8111 4222)
