They said they were from a recruitment firm after spotting my CV. I've dealt with this company before, they don’t speak any english at all, can’t follow them. Now it seems like they are just trying to scam people genuinely searching for work.

Got a call from A1 Alternative claiming I could get £3k-£5k, but the usual dodgy spiel didn’t fool me. Classic scam tactics. Just so you know, I work hand in hand with trading standards through the financial ombudsman service, so I’m well aware of these tricks. Watch out for these scammers, they’re sneaky!

Today, I received a rather peculiar phone call from a lady who identified herself as being affiliated with something called the "Accident Investigation Department". She inquired about my recent accident history, which struck me as rather strange. After I informed her that there had been no incidents on my end, she promptly ended the call without another word. Finding the whole exchange a bit off, I decided to investigate the number online, and it appears this could be a scammer at work. Just think-if I had actually been involved in an accident, I might have fallen victim to this scammer!

Got calls on both my phones just a couple mins apart. Missed the first, called back and they actually picked up! Totally those car crash scam types. The first guy ended up telling me I was wasting his time!! Second one just hung up when I asked for info about the accident. Different voices each time, said they were from Old Gloucester Street, London (though the woman couldn’t say Gloucester right, which was weird since she sounded British too).

I got a call from what claimed to be A1 lawyers in London. At first, it was a British woman who rang me, but when I tried calling back, some British bloke answered. Total scam if you ask me.

I just got a ring from this number so I blocked it straight away. Then I called them back, pretending to be on holiday and speaking with a german accent. I asked who they were, and the guy said they were some accident insurance firm. Then, the bloke just hung up on me. I tried calling three more times, and every time, they just cut me off.

total scam call. i reported them on the police’s action fraud site - best way to help stop these dodgy ppl tricking innocent folks or those who might be easy targets. just a heads up, some call blockers max out on how many numbers they can block, so they might stop working after a while. I stopped trying to block scam calls ages ago. it didn’t really reduce how many i got but i always make sure to report all scam calls, texts, and emails to action fraud.

This number kept ringing me up loads, saying I’d been in an accident with neck and back injuries and was on meds. I asked the callers name, and he said “Mark World.” When I asked for it to be spelled, it turned out to be “Mark Wind.” They claimed to be from A1 Alternatives, part of some road and traffic accident team. They wanted all my personal info, but I wasn’t having any of it. The call just ended there.

i just got a call. silence on the line. i said hello once, no answer. i tried again, still quiet. as i pulled the phone away, a woman finally spoke ‘hello how’s ur day?’ before i could say anything i hung up! ## if they don’t reply after a couple of hellos, i’m ending the call ## if it's really urgent, they’ll ring back soon enough. if not, it’s probably a bloody scam.

Accidentally rang them back, and they started chatting about some insurance claim for a car crash! Ive never been involved in anything like that. Then I noticed £3 gone from my credit just for ringing a non premium landline number. The call really should have come out of my pay as you go allowance, but instead I got charged. Told the bloke what he was doing was against the law, asked for his name, and he just hung up on me really quick!
