Beware, total scam! Found this page really helpful with some solid info. I've reported the number to Action Fraud, HMRC, and here as well. Also looked into my BT free call blocker - seems it only blocks up to 100 numbers, which isn’t much really.

Got a call off some bloke claiming he was from HM Revenue saying I owed £4000 in income tax and if I didn’t pay up, the police would come and arrest me. He also threatened to freeze my bank account and cancel my driving licence. I knew straight away it was rubbish. When I asked him a few questions, he got really nasty, yelling stuff like “why don’t you just listen?” I told him it was all bollocks and asked for any proof or paperwork, but he refused and just hung up on me. Don’t fall for this, these scammers are horrible and just want to scare you. Stay safe out there, folks.
