Got a recorded message saying HMRC wanted to talk about some criminal stuff I supposedly did. I ignored it because it sounded like some robotic voice with a bit of an Indian or Pakistani accent. Definitely a scam, watch out!

Like others here, I've had loads of calls from this number the past few days, at all sorts of times. Sometimes I pick up, sometimes I don't. Whenever I do pick up, the call just drops. If I let it go, there's no voicemail left. When I try to ring back, an automated voice says it’s some energy firm I’ve never come across before. Sounds like cold calling to me, but after seeing what others say, I’m a bit worried it might be something dodgy. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Some bloke called Matthew Davids claiming he was ringing from ESB Energy in Manchester. He went on for about 20 minutes trying to convince me to switch my fuel deal with him. Got a bit narky when I refused to share my bank details. In the end, I just hung up on him.

ESB Energy called me. The bloke was really rude. I didn't hear him properly the first time, so I asked him to say it again, and he did it in such a condescending way. I told him my husband takes care of the gas and electric bills, and he went “oh, your partner” then laughed. I corrected him saying no, it’s my husband. I got annoyed with how he was acting and just ended the call.

esb energy is more annoying than harmful if you ask me. they seem pretty disorganised - i got a seemingly legit energy quote from them yesterday after they rang me from one number, then today they called me again from that one and another number, like they had no clue about the quote they already sent.

Today, I received a call from a woman who sounded like she might be Indian, using a London landline. She claimed to work for British Gas and promptly launched into a spiel about the "fantastic offers" they had that would supposedly benefit my home. While she was prattling on, I decided to do a quick search for the number and was met with a slew of alarming reviews pointing out that she'd likely not been truthful. I politely thanked her for her time and decided to end the call.
