I wasn't familiar with the number (020 8102 5555), so I decided to let the call ring out and looked it up on this site instead. Turns out it’s not a scam at all; it's actually the NHS Falls Service reaching out, which is something I require for my elderly mum. Hopefully, this information proves useful to others in a similar predicament!

Received a call from this number, and my phone warned me it might be a scam. Curiosity got the better of me, and I picked up. The caller pretended to represent a fraud division, but didn’t specify which organisation they were connected to-no mention of HSBC's fraud team or the Department of Work and Pensions, nothing at all. That raised alarm bells, so I promptly ended the call. They wasted no time in trying to reach me again, ringing back almost straight away, and after I opted not to engage, they made another attempt just a couple of minutes later.
