Got a call saying some crypto firm I used years ago had collapsed, and that I had funds waiting to be returned. He emailed me a login for krypton.sx and told me it was just a temp password. After I logged in, he phoned again a few hours later and demanded about £200 to release the funds supposedly in my crypto account. Honestly, this is a huge con and you’re risking losing at least £200. The person behind it is definitely not to be trusted.

Right from the start I had my doubts about this bloke - had a really thick American twang and sounded like he was trying to be all charming. He began going on about some traders, but I told him I’d never dealt with them. Then he totally blew his cover by saying that didn’t make any difference, which was enough for me to tell him I wasn’t up for the chat. Later on, I rang the number back and the automated message just said hello and thanks for calling, but didn’t mention any company whatsoever. So much for Mr Charming being slick. Watch out, folks!

Total con. They said they were from P&G refunds and mentioned some bitcoin scam related to my wife’s email being hacked. When I asked straight up what the call was about, they couldn’t give a proper answer and kept insisting they weren’t trying to sell anything. As soon as I told them it sounded like a scam the cops should look into, they got all flustered and dodgy. Ended the call pretty quick after messing with them a bit.

Received a dodgy phone call today. They tried to get me to click on a link in an email and sign into their site to kick off some withdrawal process. Total nonsense, if you ask me. They’re just fishing for your personal information.

Got a call like this recently and after seeing what others said, decided to mess with them a bit. They claimed I owed a refund linked to my wife. I switched my voice up, said I’d transfer them to the refunds team, then changed my voice again and they just ended the call. Seriously, don’t get caught out by these scams. If you get calls like this, check out "scammer payback" on YouTube or try asking them if they know “Perogi” - it freaks them out. Hopefully this tip helps someone!

I've had two calls from the same number today claiming to be Goldman and Partners. The first time they mentioned something about getting compensation due to a cryptocurrency scam. Then the second call said a company had gone bust and I was owed some money. They wanted me to log into their website to verify who I was. They already had my full name and email, which was a bit worrying.

Got a call from a woman with an Eastern European accent looking for someone with a totally different name. I told her straight up it was the wrong number. She then kept asking who she was talking to, and I kept saying it wasn’t the person she wanted. This back and forth went on for a bit, then she suddenly laughed, wished me a good day and hung up. Had to block and report the number after that.
