Believing it to be legitimate since I had prior dealings, I answered. Initially, a gent requested my name, and then pried into my investment experience with Calliber. He mentioned that the firm I had funneled money into was about to shut down and promised a refund soon, with assistance from their so-called expert advisor. The call was then handed over to a woman, who insisted I download Autodesk. To my astonishment, she linked up to my laptop and pressed me to log into my bank account, claiming this was necessary to record the call for security purposes. I had anticipated her request and logged into my account, which only had a mere ten pounds as a precaution. She seemed rather taken aback by my balance and inquired if I had any other accounts, expressing a wish to validate all my financial details in order to process my refund. I made it clear that she wasn’t the representative I was used to dealing with and that I was unwilling to proceed without my usual contact. Her tone turned curt, and she abruptly ended the call, even having the audacity to suggest that if I opened my main account for verification, she would grant me a refund of fifty thousand pounds.
