They kept calling me non stop, saying I had some frozen cash in my bitcoin account or something, and they wanted to unlock it and send it over. I told them it was spam and begged them to stop, but the calls just wouldn’t quit till I blocked the number. Then the very next day, a different but similar number rang me up, 020 8097 1823. So annoying!

No idea how he managed to get hold of my landline, but claimed he was here to help with some kind of Recovery process for a Bitcoin account I supposedly put money into years ago. He said I had to have a minimum of £150 in my bank account to prove it's 'active' before he'd send over a trader who'd guide me through the steps on my laptop to cash out the Bitcoin and move the funds to my account. I bought myself a day to dig around. When I checked the number 02080971822, guess what - it was blocked. Oh, and he even gave me a password to ‘reassure’ me. Yeah right!
