He was spruiking a brand new iPhone at an incredibly low price, which instantly raised a red flag for me. Given the astonishing deal he was proposing, I decided to do a bit of digging on his number. Sure enough, my instincts were spot on; this fellow is nothing more than a fraudster!

Some bloke named 'Kevin' from 'FoneHouse' rang me up, trying to sell an iPhone 13 Pro Max or a Galaxy S22 Ultra with some mad 40% discount and unlimited data or something. I told him I’m not into those brands, so I wondered if he had anything else, like maybe a gaming laptop or something. He seemed quite keen and offered one right then, but my tech-savvy housemates said it was rubbish. Then he asked if I wanted help with anything else, so I joked about an electric car. He didn’t seem too thrilled when I said that; he just ended the call pretty quick. Bit awkward, really.

there was loads of noise in the background, and the guy on the phone had a strong asian accent and his english was a bit hard to get. couldn’t really tell who he was or what company he was with. the moment he mentioned insurance, i just hung up and blocked the number straight away.
