11 monthsTotal investment scam. They say they’re with Trading Standards or FSCS and ring you up about some lost investment money you’re supposed to get back. For me, it was something about getting money from MRT Land Holdings, which was a dodgy deal way back in 2014. Then they want you to transfer cash into a bank account under that company name. Can’t believe they’re still up to this after 10 years.MRT Land Holdings1 yearGot a letter that looked super legit, with the FSCS logo and all. The bloke on the phone seemed pretty clued up, but it was obvious he was trying to con me. He mentioned some figures and told me to reach out to some other group for a Trade Reference Licence number - which I’d never even come across before. Just felt way too dodgy to be real, and sure enough, it was a proper scam.1 yearReceived a letter pretending to be from FSCS about some compensation for a bad investment. When I rang them up, they said I had to pay a big deposit before they’d give me any money. Obviously, it’s a scam - they won’t give you anything back after you pay. Beware!1 yearScam alert: these people claim they're calling from the FSCS about some lost investment money that's supposedly owed to you. If you reply, they'll ask for your personal information and then demand an upfront payment before you can get any funds. Never use the phone numbers or emails they give you - always check the genuine FSCS website for proper contact info. Remember, FSCS never asks for money to process claims and definitely doesn’t handle anything to do with cryptocurrencies.FSCSSubmit Your Own Report (020 8090 5786)
