I’ve been getting calls from this number pretty often. I tried to play along and noticed it sounds like some kind of advanced program that copies a human voice (I’ve heard someone named Tom and a few others). If you respond with the info they want, it keeps going. But if you ask “ARE YOU A ROBOT OR A REAL PERSON?” it instantly hangs up and I just get the normal dial tone. I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of scam because they say they’re sending someone over for a “FREE ASSESSMENT!” which sounds dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone named Jack, extension 2123, who was trying to tell me I’m overpaying for my drainage and leak cover. He said they wanted to switch me to a ‘premium rate’ deal and would send some paperwork over. They oddly knew my wife’s name but not mine, which felt a bit off. Things got dodgy when they asked for my bank info but refused to prove who they were. I checked my insurance details, and when I questioned him further, he just hung up. Tried calling the number back, but it played a ‘Number not available’ message, which I reckon is just a fake answerphone setup.

Got a call from Tom claiming he was from some loft insulation company. He said someone would be dropping by to check our loft today. My husband told him to jog on and accused him of being a scammer. The bloke then tried to be all intimidating. Definitely a dodgy caller, totally deserving of the ‘dangerous’ tag. Honestly, why do the authorities just let this go on without cracking down?

Bit fishy, this one. I asked this guy Tom for the name of his company and he said something like UK Advisory Eco Innovation Group. Tried looking it up on Google, but nothing came up at all. Feels like a scam to me. Now they say a "manager" will ring me back - can't wait to see what that’s about.

I received a silent call on my landline, and before I could even say a word, the caller just hung up. This isn’t the first instance of it happening. I decided to utilise 1471, and to my surprise, it led me to this London number. When I called back, I was met with an overseas ringing tone, only to be abruptly cut off by the number I was trying to reach. I can't shake off the feeling that this could be some sort of premium scam. I have no clue who it might be, and I'm now left wondering whether there's someone actually in the building?

Got a call from 02080899543 today, bloke said he was gonna sort out loft insulation coz of some problems with the government scheme causing dampness, mentioned stuff from the Daily Telegraph and all that. He asked how many times someone had been in the loft and wanted to pop round tomorrow. When I said I'd need to look into it and asked if he could ring back next week, he just ignored me and kept asking if I'd be in tomorrow. I ended up hanging up and checked the number. He said his name was Tom.
