Some scam calls claim they’re giving discounts if you’re with O2 already. They ask for your info supposedly to update your password and place orders. Don’t get involved with these calls at all.

I’m pretty sure this is a con. They pretend to be O2 and ask you to reset your password. After that, they ring up claiming to be from O2 support offering a big discount. Their main aim is to trick you into sharing the 4-digit code that O2 texts you. Whatever you do, don’t share that code with them!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from O2, offering me a 40% discount. Seemed really dodgy to me, but what freaked me out was that he had my phone number and even knew I was on an O2 contract. He also sent a text that looked pretty genuine, but I didn’t bother opening it, just to be safe.

It’s no shock to see remarks suggesting that this number is linked to “Car Phone Warehouse” or perhaps a dodgy scam call. I’m quite pleased I didn’t answer! Recently, I received a call from another 020 number - 02032440386. I answered, only for them to dive headfirst into a sales pitch for CarPhone Warehouse. They had no clue who I was, and I certainly haven't granted permission for this company or any of its associates to contact me. The Telephone Preference Service really is an ineffective and utterly futile organisation, as they lack the authority to deal promptly and severely with those who disregard the rules in such a manner.
