I’m pretty sure this is a con. They pretend to be O2 and ask you to reset your password. After that, they ring up claiming to be from O2 support offering a big discount. Their main aim is to trick you into sharing the 4-digit code that O2 texts you. Whatever you do, don’t share that code with them!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from O2, offering me a 40% discount. Seemed really dodgy to me, but what freaked me out was that he had my phone number and even knew I was on an O2 contract. He also sent a text that looked pretty genuine, but I didn’t bother opening it, just to be safe.

I got a call from 01239 200105 in Cardigan, Wales just yesterday and when I picked up there was complete silence.
