Received a dodgy phone call purporting to be from "Microsoft." They managed to walk us through the process of granting them access to our computer, claiming there was a "virus" that needed urgent fixing for a fee of £3.99. They were insistent on obtaining all our banking information and the CVV too. I've reported the incident to the relevant authorities.

I encountered a rather alarming situation where my computer displayed a notification claiming that my URL had been exploited without my consent to access malicious hacking sites. I was instructed to call a certain number for assistance from Microsoft in order to regain control. However, upon researching the number, it became evident that it wasn’t affiliated with Microsoft, leading me to suspect it was a fraudulent operation. After a quick reboot, my computer appears to be functioning normally again, and thankfully, there are no warnings from Windows Security. I ran a brief scan as well, and it didn’t detect any problems. Clearly, this was a scam attempt.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be Frank Martin. They said my computer was hacked and the screen froze. They told me my IP was being misused or something like that. After going through a long spiel, I got passed to a supervisor - another Asian lady - who wanted me to pay a fee. I didn't give any card info and she just cut the call. Now I’m contacting Curry’s to make sure my system’s safe. Total scam, watch out!

I got a message pop up on my screen sayin my computer was infected with some trojan virus. It wouldnt let me close the message and said not to turn off my PC and to call a number. When I looked up that number on another phone it wasnt from Microsoft support at all. So I just unplugged my computer and rebooted it - seems to be fine now.

I looked up the number on my phone and it definitely wasn’t Microsoft support. I just turned my computer off and restarted it, and it worked fine after that. Pure scam, no doubt.
