SCAM alert. They ring up about drainage covers or heating repairs and say they can give a discount. For me, they got my address wrong. When I’m stuck waiting, I usually mess with them a bit. If you wanna do the same, maybe say you’ve moved or give them an old or fake address. Then try giving them fake bank info like Sort code: 30-00-00 Account number: 00353019 Lloyds Bank.

I received a call from a scammer who was offering boiler warranties to my 12-year-old son. It was quite ridiculous that someone would target a child in such a manner. Eventually, I was connected to a live person in a call centre located overseas. What concerned me was that the caller had accurate information about my name, phone number, and address. Throughout the conversation, I only replied with "right" or "yes" without providing any substantial answers. However, when they asked me to disclose the name of my bank, I refused. Immediately after my refusal, they abruptly said "good luck with your higher rates" and ended the call.

Got a dodgy call about my boiler and heating insurance. At first it was a robotic voice that seemed to be waiting for a reply, then I got put through to someone sounding like they were in an overseas call centre. What freaked me out was they already had my full name, number and address right. I just kept replying with "yes" or "yeah" until they asked for my bank name. Once I refused, they snapped "well, good luck with your rising bills" and ended the call sharpish.

They claimed to be from a firm named Homeserve, saying our premiums would be cut from £30 to £19.99 because we hadn’t made a claim, which they said was nearly half price. I jumped in and pointed out that taking £10 off £30 is actually a third, not half. They ignored me till I said it again, then reluctantly agreed it was ‘almost half’. They really hate it when you don’t follow their script. Tried to get more info, but I told them to send it in writing. They said they couldn’t without my details. Since when’s that? I ended the call.

About 16-25 hours ago, someone said they were from Ever Clean and they were returning my call. I told them I hadn’t contacted them at all, so it was an obvious cold call and told them to buzz off. Then I just hung up.

Called my landline at 3.26pm, but I wasn’t in so it went to answerphone. It said "Other Person Has Cleared," which sounded so dodgy. Checked this site and yep, definitely a SCAM.

Some bloke phoned me up trying to sell plumbing and drainage insurance for less than what I supposedly pay. Bit odd really as I don't have any insurance on that at all. As per usual, he wouldn't say where he got my number from and tried to talk over me when I started speaking. When he clocked I was getting fed up, he zipped it and just listened. I told him I'm on the TPS and asked him to take my number off their list, he said he would, but I’m not holding my breath.

Loads of dodgy insurance or warranty scam calls going about at the moment. Make sure you report every one of them to the police through ‘action fraud’. It’s really the only way to put an end to these scammers for good. They make a living by tricking vulnerable people, so it’s up to us to take action. Just google ‘action fraud’, go to the ‘police.uk’ website, and hit the ‘reporting’ button to flag the phishing call. If you’ve accidentally signed up to something like that, you’ve been conned and should definitely report it as a crime.

Got a call claiming they'd offer me a better deal on my kitchen appliance cover with Homeserve. I told them I don’t even have any cover for kitchen appliances, then they just ended the call. Seeing loads of similar reports on "who called me", this really looks like a scam to me.

I received a call from a number representing itself as an insurance company, claiming that I had not received compensation for a car accident that supposedly occurred within the past 2.5 years. However, I know for a fact that I haven't been involved in any accidents during that timeframe. I immediately hung up the call and promptly blocked the number to avoid any further contact.

Got a call from this number and it just gave a robotic 'hello' when I didn't answer right away. Some bloke called me, seemed like he was stuck in a tin can or something. He reckoned he could cut down what I pay for keeping my kitchen stuff by five pounds. I said alright, then he tried to connect me to some office people to handle the paperwork. I just ended the call right there. I don’t pay anything anyway, so why would they be sending me five quid every month? Makes no sense!

A man called but forgot to introduce himself properly before launching into a lengthy speech about kitchen insurance. He didn't provide any specific details and just rambled on without purpose. I informed him that I wasn't interested and promptly ended the call. It seemed like a scam, although I couldn't ascertain the exact motive behind it.

Absolute scam alert! These muppets just don't get it. Some bloke called me trying to sell me “appliance insurance” with a “better deal” or whatever. I told him multiple times, “Yeah, great, but this is a renewal for a policy I don’t even have!” He just kept banging on with his script like a robot. Got a call from a woman claiming she was with Team Knowhow, trying to get me to renew some insurance plan. But I know for sure Team Knowhow doesn’t ring people up about that sort of stuff. Definitely seemed dodgy.

I received a call today from someone claiming to represent HMRC, insisting that they were initiating legal action against me! I found it quite amusing and didn't fret at all. However, I can only imagine how someone more susceptible might respond to such alarming news. It’s utterly appalling!
