Hello there,

I received a rather curious phone call earlier from a gentleman with an Indian accent. He inquired whether I was Mr Spencer, which I certainly am not, and then proceeded to ask if I happened to be the landlord of a specific property. I politely informed him that he had the wrong person. Following that, he wanted to know about my occupation, but at that point, I decided it was best to end the conversation and hung up. Quite an odd encounter, to say the least!

Got a call earlier from someone saying they’re with Scottish Power, wanting to tell me about new prices starting tomorrow. Thing is, I’m on a fixed plan so that made no sense. I told them to just email the info and then they hung up.

Somebody rang me saying they were from British Gas, said it was on their behalf. They knew my address and postcode, but when I asked for my account number to be checked, they gave me a nine digit number that wasn’t mine. As soon as I told them it was wrong, they just ended the call.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Eon, the company that supplies gas to my business. He sounded like he had some info about my account, but something felt off. He said the electricity rates were going up, even though my contract was fixed. I told him go ahead, raise the price, I’ll just shut down my business and you won’t see a penny. After that, he just said thanks and hung up.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from EON, which is actually the company that supplies power to my business. They told me my electricity prices were going up and seemed to have some knowledge about my account. When I told them I’d rather contact EON myself and wouldn’t give any info over the phone, they didn’t seem bothered. They then mentioned that if I wasn’t happy with the price hike, I could chat with their energy advisors to sort out a better deal. That’s when I decided to hang up, as it all felt a bit dodgy even though they sounded quite believable.

Got a call from someone called Sam saying they were with British Gas. They told me our contract price had changed and they hadn’t told us before. They asked for personal info to send a new contract by email. When I said no, they threatened to cancel the contract and said we’d lose our supply. Then the caller just ended the call.
