I got a call from a bloke with an accent claiming he was calling to sort out my Sky equipment breakdown cover renewal. Thing is, I have no clue how he got hold of my number since it’s a temp one, barely used for 4 days. When I asked who he was trying to reach, he said my name. But then he said he couldn't say who he’d called unless I went through some security check. I told him I wasn’t having it and that I’d report this dodgy cold call straight away.

Someone phoned me claiming my Sky equipment insurance was up. I haven’t got any, so I asked when it supposedly expired. They said it was just last night. When I questioned that, the caller just told me to “f##k off.”

Received calls at the crack of dawn and during my lunch break, with some background commotion, only for the line to go dead. I've since decided to block the number completely on my device.

I stepped away for a moment and missed the call, which was probably lucky. Anyone ringing unexpectedly during the festive season is bound to be met with a chilly response. Judging by other comments, it seems like they’re back to using a familiar, if not outdated, trick to scare people. It’s definitely a scam, no doubt about it. Should they ask for money, make sure you report it to either Ofcom or the ICO, as one of those bodies deals with this sort of thing. And if you’ve actually handed over cash, that’s a police issue - you need to alert Action Fraud straightaway.

I got a call about some Sky insurance deal, but I’ve never even signed up with Sky. They said they got my contact from Sky, which seems dodgy. They’ve rung me about three or four times now, so I’ve just blocked the number.

Got a call from a woman claiming my sky box insurance expired, which is nonsense since I've never owned one. I just told her to buzz off. Total scam.

I got a call from this number a little while ago, and the person claimed to be from Sky. But when I asked her to say it again 'cause there was a lot of noise in the background, she just hung up on me. She spoke quietly and had an accent too.

Got a call from a woman who said there was an issue with my Sky box or some gear, but I don’t even have Sky, so it was clearly a scam. The caller sounded Asian. Just a heads up to watch out for this kind of rubbish!

Got a call this morning around half past eight. I usually pick up quite firmly if it’s someone I don’t know, and that’s exactly what I did. But as soon as I said hello, the call dropped straight away. Just before it ended, I caught some chatter and noise like it was coming from a call centre.

I got a call from an Asian woman saying my sky box insurance had expired. Problem is, I use the Sky Q and the box belongs to Sky, so if anything goes wrong it’s up to them to fix it, not me. Pretty sure it’s just a scam.

Got a call from an Asian woman about my Sky box insurance, saying it had run out and I needed to pay a lump sum for the next year. But my plan is monthly and rolling, plus Sky has never reached out about any insurance before. Felt a bit off to me.

Picked up and all I got was a robotic "cheers" before it hung up. Definitely one of those dodgy scam calls.

Got a call but no one said a word, really strange.

There was silence for maybe 10 seconds, then this robotic woman’s voice just said “Goodbye” and ended the call. If it’s meant to be Sky like some folks say, we don’t have Sky here and we’re registered with TPS, so probably just a scam.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from Sky. He told me my "Sky Docs" insurance was about to run out and said it was part of my monthly Sky bill, asking if I wanted to renew for one or two years. I've been a Sky customer ages and knew full well that breakdown cover isn’t part of my bill. Honestly, just ignore these calls and hang up straight away - don’t bother chatting with them.

somebody rang claiming to be from sky, saying my service was faulty. i quickly told them i don’t even have sky, so they were clearly trying to scam me. they snapped back with "how dare you speak to me like that". i wasn’t having it and told them off again because her attitude was just rude. then she just fell silent. these types are really dodgy. i worry that anyone less careful might fall for it. avoid them and don’t share any personal details.

This morning around 8.40, I got a call from a lady saying my sky gear’s insurance had expired. I kept her chatting for a good 10 minutes about my “sky kit” before finally telling her I don’t even have sky stuff. Gotta say, I found it pretty amusing!
