Got a call from 020 8260 3495 and some robot lady started telling me I’m under investigation for tax fraud and there’s a warrant out for my arrest. Then it said to press 1 for more details and legal help. I just told it to f*** off and ended the call. Seriously, don’t press 1, just drop the call straight away.

Got a call from this number trying to sell work contracts for electricians. I told them straight where to shove it. Seriously, don't risk going out to work in this pandemic, and watch out for these dodgy scammers.

They've rang me 3 times this week, i dont usually pick up 02 numbers cos mostly they’re scams. Seeing these comments, guess i was right. I’m an electrician too.

I picked up and an asian woman went "Hello Darling, how are you doing today??" I was like, "Who is this, please?" She said it's from "company name" after some emergency electrician as they found our number online. I said sorry, but she kept going, asking if she could speak to my supervisor. I asked why, and she just said nothing. Seriously, a proper company wouldn’t start by calling someone "Hello Darling." So I just ended the call.

I didn’t pick up, these calls are getting ridiculous, especially from 020 numbers. After reading the comments, I reckon I did the right thing not answering. Put it on my block list, but I’m sure they’ll ring back using another number.

Got a call on my phone while I was abroad, cheers for the 3am wake-up call, really appreciated that. To whoever keeps doing this, why not find a proper job and pay your taxes like the rest of us in the UK instead of bothering people?

Just like everyone else said, they wanted to talk to an electrician. Then got really impolite. Kept ringing me saying I was rude. Now they won't stop bothering me. Had to block them.

Just like loads of others have said, this is a complete scam from folks outside the UK who clearly have no clue what an electrician actually does.

Scammers pretending to have Nelson Mandela accents, some sort of gang with funny accents all over the place, rubbish at English too. They’re after your money, passport, driving licence or even your rubber boat and paddles, it’s mad!

They ring me like three times every single day, and even tho I keep blocking their number, they still manage to get through. It’s proper annoying now.

They charge folks between 75 to 150 an hour, but engineers only get half and the cost of materials too. The English was so bad I could hardly understand a thing, had to hang up after 15 minutes cause it was impossible to get through just a few simple sentences.

This person kept ringing me about emergency plumbing services, even after I said no nicely. When I said no a few times and got a bit annoyed, she told me I should calm down! I told her she should probably listen instead, said no again for the fourth time, and then I hung up.

Got a call asking if I wanted to sign up for their emergency electric service, which apparently costs the customer. They asked for my date of birth to register? When I said no, the woman then wanted my driving licence number to confirm my identity. I told her she was the one who rang me, it all felt a bit dodgy, and I just ended the call.
