Like others, I got a voicemail from HMRC saying I’m about to be prosecuted and that I’m being watched or whatever. Funny thing is, even the snow plough couldn’t make it up my road, and they say I’m under surveillance? Makes no sense!

I received a rather alarming call from this number, accompanied by a pre-recorded message claiming that I was under investigation by HMRC. After mulling it over for a good ten minutes, I came to a few realisations: 1) If someone was involved in illicit activities, they surely wouldn’t ring back; it’s the panicked folks who tend to react. 2) HMRC isn't going to give you a heads-up about anything. 3) Under duress, many might inadvertently share sensitive details. When I rang back, I ended up chatting with a chap who did introduce himself, but his accent was quite thick, making it hard for me to follow. I kindly requested that he call again later as my phone was running low on credit. Curiously, his main aim seemed to be verifying my phone number, yet he didn’t bother to ask for my name. To me, this has the hallmarks of an Indian phishing operation, and unsurprisingly, he didn't attempt to get back in touch. One has to wonder-HMRC would never employ customer service agents who are so difficult to understand, especially considering the number of jobless youth within the 16 to 25 age bracket. And as for their after-hours service, there’s not even a voicemail to confirm their identity.

I’ve come across a rather dubious telephone number that definitely raises some red flags. I reckon it’s high time the authorities looked into this situation and took action against those responsible. Every time it rings, it’s always someone with a foreign accent on the other end, which makes me feel uneasy. Folks really ought to stay vigilant about this-it’s no small matter; we're dealing with serious fraud here!

Got a call today, a recorded voice said they were from HMRC and that my house was being watched, said I shouldn't hang up. When I rang back, they asked me to snap my debit card and driving licence and send it by email. My son picked up another call from them and told them he was worried, then they said I'd be arrested and called him a right b*******!!! Charming lot, fingers crossed they get busted soon.

Just received a rather unsettling call moments ago; it was just a pre-recorded message directing me to ring another number. Apparently, they claimed there’s an ongoing HMRC investigation and suggested that I’m being monitored. It’s quite concerning, to say the least, as it could easily have been someone else on the line. This is no laughing matter and could definitely lead to unnecessary worry and stress. I did a bit of digging on the number, and it’s completely unfamiliar to me. A word of caution to everyone out there!

I hung up straight away because I never pick up unknown numbers, they’re always annoying calls. I figure if it's urgent, they’ll leave a voicemail, which usually they don’t. But today was different, they left a message threatening me with legal trouble if I didn’t call back. I just deleted those fools, I’m not daft. But I can understand how if you’re not aware of this kind of scam, it could be really stressful and frightening. It’s high time someone cracked down on these scumbags, absolute rubbish people.

So far, no legit legal folks ever sort things out over the phone, they always send letters. Utter nonsense and just cruel scammers. My advice, always look up the number online before you call back.
