8 yearsI rang this number back and some guy who could barely speak English was trying to sell me a mobile phone deal lol. Feels like this number is being used for all sorts of scams.8 yearsLike others, I got a voicemail from HMRC saying I’m about to be prosecuted and that I’m being watched or whatever. Funny thing is, even the snow plough couldn’t make it up my road, and they say I’m under surveillance? Makes no sense!HMRC8 yearsI received a rather alarming call from this number, accompanied by a pre-recorded message claiming that I was under investigation by HMRC. After mulling it over for a good ten minutes, I came to a few realisations: 1) If someone was involved in illicit activities, they surely wouldn’t ring back; it’s the panicked folks who tend to react. 2) HMRC isn't going to give you a heads-up about anything. 3) Under duress, many might inadvertently share sensitive details. When I rang back, I ended up chatting with a chap who did introduce himself, but his accent was quite thick, making it hard for me to follow. I kindly requested that he call again later as my phone was running low on credit. Curiously, his main aim seemed to be verifying my phone number, yet he didn’t bother to ask for my name. To me, this has the hallmarks of an Indian phishing operation, and unsurprisingly, he didn't attempt to get back in touch. One has to wonder-HMRC would never employ customer service agents who are so difficult to understand, especially considering the number of jobless youth within the 16 to 25 age bracket. And as for their after-hours service, there’s not even a voicemail to confirm their identity.HMRC8 yearsTotally feels like a dodgy scam.8 yearsI’ve come across a rather dubious telephone number that definitely raises some red flags. I reckon it’s high time the authorities looked into this situation and took action against those responsible. Every time it rings, it’s always someone with a foreign accent on the other end, which makes me feel uneasy. Folks really ought to stay vigilant about this-it’s no small matter; we're dealing with serious fraud here!8 yearsGot the exact same robotic voicemail about HMRC watching my house, yada yada. Is there any way to report this number to the authorities so they can catch these muppets, give them a good thrashing, and toss them off a cliff?HMRC8 yearsGot this recorded message again for the second time now. Looks like they’ve switched up one number this week tho. It’s really awful how these calls can freak out folks who are vulnerable. People doing this kinda scam should really be put behind bars :(8 yearsTotal ripoffs!8 yearsGot a call today, a recorded voice said they were from HMRC and that my house was being watched, said I shouldn't hang up. When I rang back, they asked me to snap my debit card and driving licence and send it by email. My son picked up another call from them and told them he was worried, then they said I'd be arrested and called him a right b*******!!! Charming lot, fingers crossed they get busted soon.HMRC8 yearsGot a robocall saying I’m being prosecuted and my home is being watched. Be cautious, everyone!HMRC8 yearsRobotic voice, just like all the others.8 yearsJust received a rather unsettling call moments ago; it was just a pre-recorded message directing me to ring another number. Apparently, they claimed there’s an ongoing HMRC investigation and suggested that I’m being monitored. It’s quite concerning, to say the least, as it could easily have been someone else on the line. This is no laughing matter and could definitely lead to unnecessary worry and stress. I did a bit of digging on the number, and it’s completely unfamiliar to me. A word of caution to everyone out there!HMRC8 yearsHas anyone else told HMRC about tbs? [email protected] might find it useful to know, though I guess the scammers will just change their digits and are likely hiding abroad by now.HMRC8 yearsGot a call saying my home was being watched, sounded like a robotic voice for sure.8 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, totally a scam. Please dont ring them back!!HMRC8 yearsJust like everyone else. They say the house is being watched or whatever. Yawn.8 yearsGot a call from this number just now. It’s shocking and really worrying that they can get away with this kind of rubbish. Absolutely not going to ring them back!9 yearsGot the same number again, same rubbish call quality and terrible grammar. Sounds like they’re using some caveman script. Looks like they’re getting frantic trying to make a quid before 25th May 2018. After that, we can all ask ‘Can you give me your business name, address, and prove you’re GDPR compliant?’ Just hang on for the dial tone, folks.9 yearsGot a scam phone call claiming to be from HMRC, telling me to ring them back or I’d be in trouble with the law.HMRC9 yearsTotal scam.
